Loki vs Enel Would be CLOSE! One Piece 1142 Full Spoilers!!
Killingham brings out Elbaph’s worst nightmare! With Loki facing off against the Monster Trio, who will stop the God Knights?

In the previous One Piece chapter, Loki has finally been freed by Luffy and Zoro.
One Piece Chapter 1142 is titled, “The Things I Fear”.
This chapter has 17 pages.
We are nearing the end of Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage with Volume 28 seeing the quick defeat of Who’s Who in one hit.
The caption reads: “Return the sword and the girls you kidnapped, Raimei Hakke (Thunder Bagua).”
Perhaps we will not see the answer to who killed Hanafuda, who was revealed as Ulti and Page One’s father.
It might just be coincidence after all.
Saul’s Power as a Vice-Admiral
The chapter begins in Walrus School, where a huge snake called Jormungandr chases after the children.
In Road’s diorama in Chapter 1126: “Settling the Score”, there was a giant snake called “Hilmungardr” that chased after the humans.
Notably, this snake is only bigger than normal humans and for a Giant like Road, this was just a normal snake.
Additionally, the name Hilmungardr has the prefix “Hil” instead of “Jor”, as in Japanese, Jor is spoken of as “Jor” or “Yoru” (Night) while “Hil” is spoken as “Hiru” (Day).
Road’s serpent is the Day Serpent while the Jormungandr is the Night Serpent, which could be a hint to the latter’s true origins.
The snake was about to eat one of the Giant children when one of the adult Giants steps in and hits its head with a huge hammer.
It also so happens that Loki’s Ragnir is a massive warhammer, so we can connect some dots.
In an amazing double page, Saul appears and jumps from the top of a branch.
As he performs this, Saul apologizes for being late and tells Kiba, the Giant who intervened, to step back
Then, Saul hits the snake with a powerful Haki punch called “Kimatsu Shiken” (the kanji means “Demon-slaying Punch” but pronunciation is “Final Exam’ in Japanese).
The puns works well because of the snake being demonic (as we might see) and the pronunciation referring to the school setting.
The children are amazed by how the teachers saved them.
Kiba, the Giant with the hammer, is the school principal and has two long walrus tusks and whiskers, which is where the school gets its name, Walrus School, from.
He is also a former member of the Giant Warrior Pirates and possibly one of the people who helped Saul retrieve the books from Ohara after the Incident.
We are not sure if Kiba is a half-Mink, half-Giant, since walruses are mammals but Scopper Gaban’s words from Chapter 1139: “Mountain Eater” seem to imply that there is one more type of hybrid, the “Dosundada” that we have yet to meet and that he has not listed every hybrid.
After all, we know of Big Mom’s children, who are hybrids between human and other races.
We also theorized that Kaido and the “oni” clan are actually half-human, half-Ancient Giant Hybrids, in contrast to the Buccaneers.
It is also possible that Kiba might have a Zoan Devil Fruit and he is assuming a hybrid state, which would allow the use of his regular legs.
The Giant kids are all impressed by the teachers, with one recalling that there were rumors about Saul being a member of the Navy.
Robin and Chopper, who were hidden under Saul’s bushy beard, ask him if these animals are normal in the “Sun World” but Saul says that there is no such snake.
This is not even the only weird incident to happen throughout the chapter.
A teacher named Wolff was found injured and the kids in his class fell asleep.
Saul asks the children he saved where Yiva and the other kids went.
The Giant children point to the beach and note that it was weird that the other kids would not respond to anything they say.
Suddenly, Giant children start sleepwalking to the beach, following Gunko’s arrow, and massive shadows, resembling monsters, emerge from the forest.
Gunko’s Aro Aro no Mi has the ability to command anyone, even the user, to follow the direction of the arrow the fruit produces.
The way these creatures form remind me of the Gorosei and Imu assuming their yokai forms in Chapter 1085: “The Death of Nefertari Cobra”.
Loki Is Elbaph’s Time Bomb
Seeing this, Kiba takes drastic measures and blows a horn, signalling for all schools to evacuate.
Now, all of Elbaph knows that the Giant children are being taken away somewhere.
We cut to the Underworld, Loki is standing in front of Luffy and the others with Ragnir in his hands.
Despite his injuries, Loki seems fine and commands Luffy and the Giants to cut the last Seastone Prism cuff.
Loki pressures them to act quickly, saying that he knows Elbaph’s weakness, which was established in the last chapter.
In another amazing double page, we see Loki hit “Treasure Tree Adam” with Ragnir like a baseball bat, causing a lightning bolt to fall from the sky and strike the spot that Loki hit.
The lightning also strikes a branch of the Adam Tree and when it falls on the Sun World, the area begins to catch fire, which interrupts the party in Western Village where Jarul and Usopp were.
This might be the biggest thunderbolt in all of One Piece, maybe even bigger than the lightning produced by Enel, the actual Thunder God of One Piece.
Imagine a match between them.
Jarul orders the Giants to extinguish the fire.
Loki has set the time bomb of the arc, which is an Oda trope that sets the stage for the main action and a signal that the arc is headed towards its end.
Kaido’s time bomb was the New Onigashima Project, which involved sending Onigashima towards the Flower Capital in Chapter 984: “My Bible”, which is the halfway point of the Wano Country Arc, the longest arc of One Piece at 149 chapters.
Starting with Chapter 1126, we are only 16 chapters into the Elbaph Arc while it took 31 chapters for the 68-chapter Egghead Island Arc to set off the Buster Call, which is less than the halfway point.
Then again, most of the Thriller Bark arc involved action after only 8 chapters, with Oars, the main fight, coming within 20 chapters of the 48-chapter Thriller Bark arc.
How long do you think will the current arc last?
Sommers the Fearmonger and Gunko’s Greatest Fear
We cut back to Walrus School, where Ange tells Saul and Kiba that she has seen these monsters before
The class had an activity to draw “the things they fear most” and now those fears come back to life.
In the final double page of the chapter, we see Walrus School being surrounded by giant monsters that resemble kid’s drawings.
The monsters dwarf the adult Giants and might be as tall as Loki and each of them is drawn in a distinct style because they were drawn by different children.
This almost feels like a representation of how Devil Fruits are born.
A huge dragon (just like the one in the Harley mural in Chapter 1138?)
A bear with a helmet
A giant bird
A frightening thundercloud (imagine if that kid meets Zeus)
A ghost (imagine if Brook’s ghost leaves his body)
A giant skeleton soldier (Draugr)
A giant wolf (Fenrir)
A furious giant (Loki)
An evil warrior who looks like Nika’s picture that appears in Harley’s book (Black Nika)
The chapter ends with Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham observing everything from a distance.
Notably, Shamrock does not appear in this chapter, almost as if the Figarland brothers have a tendency to appear one time and leave the action to everyone else.
So as it turns out, this is indeed the work of the Qilin himself, Saint Rimoshifu Killingham, since Sommers
The Qilin Mythical Zoan seems to have the ability to make illusions into reality and also to make them fall asleep but this has a time limit.
If the Giant Serpent was a product of the Qilin Zoan, then will these shadows be real and able to do damage?
Impressed by Killingham’s work, Sommers remarks that love is all about hurting each other and asks Gunko about her fear.
Gunko’s reply to her greatest fear is “Nika”.
This could set Gunko to be a contrast to Jewelry Bonney and further proof of our theory about her and possibly even about Shanks and his twin Shamrock, all of whom lack the Saint title.
Author’s comment: “Among my four regular staff members, three had to leave due to illness! This is the first time I’ve faced such a crisis! That’s how this week went.”
This could explain the break.
After three weeks of content, One Piece WILL BE ON BREAK NEXT WEEK.
One Piece Chapter 1143 will be released on March 24, 2025.
