Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Reveals Its Main Trailer
Kaiju No. 8 hits audiences with its bombastic trailer, showing off improved animation quality and a new opening.
On June 19, 2025, Kaiju No. 8 just released a main trailer for the second season.
We see Gen Narumi mobilize his First Division of the Defense Force, showing off characters such as Rin Shinonome (who debuts this season), and Kikoru Shinomiya facing off against the swarm of Kaiju, who have seemingly deviated from their normal behavior and we see its cause, Kaiju No. 9, who has begun spawning its wave of Kaiju.
There is a nice sequence of Kafka kicking in mid-air timed to the firing of missiles as the opening plays, followed by a montage of all the characters: Kikoru and Gen activating his Numbers Weapon 1 and ending on Kafka in Kaiju No. 8 form.
The opening theme for Season 2 is by Aurora titled, “You Can’t Run From Yourself””
The story will likely adapt Chapter 39 and end on Chapter 75 with the conclusion of the Cataclysms Arc or even enter the Second Wave arc.
The events shown on the trailer are the early parts of the Kaiju Weapon Arc (Chapters 40-55), ensuring audiences are not too spoiled about what is about to happen other than the third encounter with series antagonist, Kaiju No. 9.

About Kaiju No. 8
Kaiju No. 8 is a manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto for the Shōnen Jump+ app and website since July 2020.
As of March 2025, the series has reached a total of 15 volumes and has sold over 18 million copies worldwide.
Season 1 was released in 2024 produced by Production I.G. (Haikyuu, Heavenly Delusion) with monster designs by Studio Khara (Evangelion Rebuild movies) and adapted the first 38 chapters of the story.
The story follows Kafka Hibino, a 32 year old man who ingested a parasitic creature and gained the ability to turn into a kaiju, eventually joining the Defense Force that opposes the kaiju.
Kaiju No. 8’s manga will conclude with Chapter 129 set for July 2025.
Meanwhile, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 will begin broadcast on July 19, 2025 at Crunchyroll, Twitter and other platforms worldwide.
