Kaiju No. 8 Releases Yet Another Spinoff, This Time on Gen Narumi
Kaiju No. 8 releases a new spinoff focusing on the First Division Captain Gen Narumi and his daily routine at work.
On May 30, 2026, we got a visual and trailer for the Kaiju No. 8 anime spinoff, “Narumi’s Week at Work”, which shows First Division Captain Gen Narumi going through his routine with his squad, a contrast to the one-episode OVA “Hoshina’s Day-Off” released on March 28, 2025
This was first announced on December 20, 2025 on Jump Festa 2026 but unlike Hoshina’s Day Off, Narumi’s Week at Work will last a whole month, covering 4 episodes total starting from September 5, 2026 and will end on September 26th.
As of September 4th, Kaiju No. 8 reached 20 million copies, including spinoffs like Kaiju No. 8: Relax.
About Kaiju No. 8
Kaiju No. 8 is a manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto for the Shōnen Jump+ app and website from July 3, 2020 to July 18, 2025..
The story follows Kafka Hibino, a 32 year old man who ingested a parasitic creature and gained the ability to turn into a kaiju, eventually joining the Defense Force that opposes the kaiju.
