Kaiju No. 8 Finale Will Be a Movie!
Will turning one of the most underwhelming finales of recent shonen into a movie solidify Kaiju No. 8’s popularity and longevity?
On October 24, 2026, it was announced that Kaiju No. 8 will not end with Season 3 but with a finale movie.
The key visual features the final villain of the series, the Daikaiju of the Meireki Era, the monster within Kaiju No. 9, with the caption “The age of humanity comes to an end.”
Titled, “The Final Chapter”, the movie has been in production since December 2025 with its announcement at Jump Festa 2026.
With this finale adapting Chapters 84 to 129, a total of 46 chapters mostly filled with action, a single movie ending the whole series is fairly viable.
The production behind the movie have quite the experience, as Production I.G. produced the legnedary Ghost in the Shell film and its sequels, Psycho-Pass’s movies, and also animated Kill Bill: Volume 1’s “Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren” while Studio Khara helmed the Neon Genesis Evangelion Rebuild films.
With the incredible CGI animation for the kaiju in a movie format, there is already a strong appeal to witness Kaiju No. 8 in cinemas
Some could see this as following the trend of Demon Slayer ending its own anime adaptation with a movie trilogy and could potentially set up Jujutsu Kaisen’s finale in movie format.
Kaiju No. 8 the Movie will premiere sometime in 2027, likely around the August to October Fall stretch of movies that the notable films fall into.
