GUNKO IS IMU’S VESSEL! ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1149 EARLY SPOILERS!

Imu’s true identity is FINALLY REVEALED!

ABD x ONE PIECE © 1997 by Eiichiro Oda/SHUEISHA Inc.

In the previous One Piece chapter, Gaban managed to cancel Shepherd Sommers’ immortality and save Robin and the Straw Hats.

One Piece Chapter 1149 is titled, “One Second”.

As predicted in our hints article, this chapter has many massive reveals, which intensify the stakes of Elbaph and even the outside world.

The color page features the Straw Hats in a maid cafe, with the Straw Hat girls wearing maid costumes including Lilith and Bonney.

The chapter continues where we left off as Scopper Gaban finishes off Sommers by cutting his body into many pieces using Haki and his axes.

Sommers, however, is still alive but in pieces and unable to regenerate his full body.

In retaliation, Gunko goes after Colon, threatening to kill him if Gaban does not surrender, which we predicted in our One Piece 1148 video.

Gaban does, so Gunko stabs him with her Arrow and throws him from Treasure Tree Adam, which could lead him into the Underworld, where the Monster Trio and Loki are.

Gunko and Brook Know Each Other

Suddenly, Gunko seems to be fighting back against something as she goes to free Brook.

We get a flashback to Brook’s past, prior to becoming part of the Rumbar Pirates, and we learn that he knew Gunko from before he set sail as a pirate.

And this is why Gunko behaves in a contradictory way.

She listens to Brook’s music because she actually met the musician more than 50 years ago.

When Gunko was eating with the other God’s Knights, she was being herself, continuing to be reserved and keeping to herself around these men.

But why would she be fighting back against another force?

Gunko is Imu’s Vessel

That is when we get this massive reveal: that all this time, Gunko was actually Imu’s vessel.

We knew about this all throughout, mentioning this as early as our 1142 video.

This explains why Imu was using arrows when killing King Nefertari Cobra.

Ever since Gunko was revealed to be the user of the Aro Aro no Mi, we speculated a connection between her and Imu due to the way Imu tried to stab through both Sabo and King Cobra.

That was not the tail of a demon but the ability of the Aro Aro no Mi.

If Gunko has two personalities, what if Blackbeard is in a similar situation, having two or even three personalities

It also makes sense why Luffy and Zoro were not able to meet Gunko yet as that would expose Gunko’s true nature, and by extension, Blackbeard as well.

Either way, Imu takes control because of how long it is taking for the God’s Knights to acquire the Giant Mercenaries.

It seems there is an actual good reason for this move.

The Burning of Mary Geoise

As it turns out, while the Elbaph operation has taken place, Holy Land Mary Geoise has been under attack, with most of it burning.

This is why Shamrock was called back to Mary Geoise, to help clear this mess.

This is also why Imu was desperate enough to forcefully colonize Elbaph.

It seems there were also already hints of a much bigger disaster when Sommers and Killingham were summoned in Chapter 1140: “Scopper Gaban”, as Sommers was talking to someone about the Celestial Dragons’ food supplies, which was due to the Revolutionary Army destroying their food supplies before reaching the Red Line.

This was actually already hinted even before the Final Saga began.

In the 2019 game One Piece: World Seeker, which Oda supervised, there was artwork showing the fall of Mary Geoise.

The caption reads: “The Holy Land Mary Geoise, engulfed in flames!! Who is this mysterious figure in this untouchable sacred place…!?”

6 years later, we see the event unfold.

There are two likely culprits behind this disaster.

We will rule out Imu and any Nero-related hijinks because Imu’s tone suggests this was never planned at all and the world has gone far beyond their control.

This leads to two conclusions: the Revolutionary Army and the Blackbeard Pirates.

Fans remember that in Chapter 1 , when Dragon said that when God’s Knights make their move, the real war will begin.

It seems this is that time, as three of the God’s Knights, including Imu’s own vessel (unknown to everyone else), are on Elbaph, leaving a massive opening and gap in power.

But would Dragon make such a move at this point instead of during Vegapunk’s broadcast, where all the Five Elders gathered, assuming he kept tabs on their whereabouts.

Either way, removing three of the potentially nine-man squad of God’s Knights might have been the opening Dragon was waiting for.

However, it is also possible that this disaster could be the Blackbeard Pirates’ work.

In Chapter 1126: “Settling the Score”, Laffitte was assigned by Marshall D. Teach to monitor the Revolutionary Army’s sabotage of the bondolas that held the food supply for the World Nobles, which could mean that the Blackbeard Pirates might have launched an attack on the Red Line, no longer waiting around for any pronouncement of the Blackbeard Kingdom becoming a World Government member, assuming Blackbeard was actually serious about that rather than do his old ploy of joining the World Government to gain access to some place.

A third possibility is that this is a Marine coup d’etat, as we established in one of our recent videos.

This might be due to a combination of Kizaru’s Egghead experience and Fleet Admiral Sakazuki’s gradual dissatisfaction with being led around by his superiors.

Perhaps SWORD has finally broken loose, possibly with a mutiny from the anti-Absolute Justice faction like Fujitora and Smoker.

Or a fourth possibility is that Cross Guild might have gone beyond bounty hunting but this is all quite vague.

We are still unsure of what exactly is happening until we either get more details from spoilers or the coming chapters will unfold.

As it looks, the Monster Trio have a handful as they might actually have to fight the Final Boss of One Piece in the very middle of the Final Saga, rather than at the end.

Will the Elbaph Arc end with Luffy dethroning the God of the One Piece world or a much greater darkness that the Straw Hats need the One Piece for?

The chapter ends with Imu saying: “Mu will show how a god rules over the world”

There will be NO BREAK Next Week!

One Piece Chapter 1150 will be released on June 1, 2025.
