Imu Summons the LEGENDARY SWORDS of the First Twenty!! One Piece Chapter 1189 Early Spoilers!
Imu is NOT HOLDING BACK NOW. Unleashing 6 of the 19 swords used by the First Twenty Kings that founded the World Government. With two legendary weapons used against Zoro and Sanji. Meanwhile, can Scopper Gaban buy time for Luffy to recover?
In the previous One Piece chapter, Imu stabs Luffy with the Bohu sword, similar to Luffy’s first defeat at the hands of Crocodile.
Chapter 1189 is titled “King of the World”
The cover page shows Nami scolding Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji (who have been turned into monkeys).
Imu summons another weapon called the “Sea God Sword” and stabs Luffy again.
Imu then pins Luffy to a tree with both swords.
It seems the Sea God Sword is designed to counter Devil Fruits.
But Imu has chosen not to finish off Luffy.
Usopp senses that something bad has happened to Luffy.
For the first time since Dressrosa, Usopp has made use of his Observation Haki.
Gunko’s ice has melted, but she still has not regained consciousness.
Loki remembers a conversation with Shanks on the day Harald died.
Shanks says that the World Government is preparing for a future “war” and tells Loki that Elbaph’s enemy is the “King of the World”
And it looks like the Final War is here at last.
And besides Imu’s entrance in Chapter 1179, we get Imu revealing more weapons.
Imu gives Sommers a weapon called the “Sword of Wrath” to fight Zoro.
Imu then gives Killingham a weapon called the “Spear of Holy Command” to fight Sanji.
All of the weapons Imu uses once belonged to the 19 kings from 800 years ago.
The chapter ends with Imu about to kill Luffy using the “Xingtian Axe,” but Gaban appears and blocks Imu’s attack.
Bohu, the Blade of Nothingness, the sword that drains life.
The Sea God Sword, the sword that weakens Devil Fruits.
The Blade of Wrath, perhaps the sword Gram, which he used against Loki in Chapter 1183.
The Spear of Holy Command, a new never before seen weapon.
The Xingtian Axe, with Xingtian being a rebellious demon god from Chinese mythology who kept fighting against the Yellow Emperor even after losing its head.
This represents the spirit of never giving up, which Luffy holds, so the choice of weapon is thematic and possibly on purpose by Imu, who might have killed Joy Boy with this weapon.
In total, we have 5 out of the 19 weapons in the Empty Throne, 6 including Imu’s polearm, which has yet to be given a name.
These could very well be the Supreme Grade Swords long before the ones known today.
Not to mention that one of the Five Elders, Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, has the Shodai Kitetsu, the first of the Kitetsu Blades.
That makes 7 and it is possible Imu gave Sommers the sword of the Shepherd family, the Gram sword, which deos fit their more Nordic appearance since Gram is the name of Sigurd’s sword that slayed the dragon Fafnir.
