Can Hakuri Save the Day? Kagurabachi Chapter 93 Spoilers!
Has Hakuri actually accomplished his mission or is this all a trap set by the Hishaku to crush the Kamunabi in one full stroke?
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, each side lost an arm, pushing the swordsmen to their limits.
We had a break last week but got a second Sojo special bathhouse chapter,
Kagurabachi Chapter 93 is titled, “Finishing Touches”
This chapter has 19 pages.
Editor’s note: “Four people thirsting to cut one another..!”
“Volume 9 releasing October 3rd!”
The chapter begins with Hokuto expressing manic excitement over this battle.
Then we take a more comedic turn as Natsuki gets mad that Hokuto barely used sorcery while he was spamming Lightning Menace.
Meanwhile, Natsuki is annoyed that Uruha was also not using his Koen against Yura.
Uruha apologizes, noting that he would easily forget since he has not used Sorcery in 18 years.
Meanwhile, Hokuto acknowledges it was his fault, saying that he allowed Natsuki to use his Sorcery so he does not feel inferior, showing how Hokuto sees himself as the stronger foe.
Natsuki gets offended but Hokuto goes flirty and winks at Natsuki, saying he was delighted by his swordplay.
Meanwhile, Yura is just groaning in pain from his battle wounds.
It is funny how the leader of the Hishaku is probably the most normal person in the room, riding park horseys aside.
Uruha analyzes his opponents’ skill level.
Uruha sees Yura as not a master swordsman but he has exceptional physique and can keep up with himself and Natsuki.
Hokuto, on the other hand, has barely even shown his actual level of swordsmanship as it feels like he was going easy on him and Natsuki just to savor every second of this battle.
Judging from his demeanor, Uruha can tell Hokuto was not lying about his introduction of himself and Yura in the last chapter and indeed he is a master swordsman.
Meanwhile, Hokuto seems casual about the way everyone got roughed up by this fight.
He enjoys the thrill of battle so much being wounded motivates him thanks to the adrenaline boosted by the pain.
Hokuto excitedly declares that they are now entering the most important stage, the make it or break it.
Yura tells Hokuto that he talks too much, so Hokuto backs off.
Everyone readies their swords as their Spirit Energy swirls and we see one of the best spreads of the series, where we see the four men bunch upon each other with swords on their throats.
Kamunabi Headquarters 5th floor
We see one of the Kamunabi get eaten by the demon head of Bingo, the Hishaku who used Mako, the summoning of floating demon heads, while he drags another member with him.
Another member witnesses this and from behind is the lady Hishaku, who blows frost on him to freeze his body.
The lady Hishaku, whose name is Uran (with the kanji for “right” and “tempest”), has the ability to emit frost.
While this is a strong power, we have actually seen something like this before.
In Chapter 35, we learn Hakuri was assigned to feed a female prisoner whose skin has the unique property of emanating cold.
This woman was sold to the Sazanami Clan by her own lover and would bond with Hakuri, who shares her experiences of familial abuse, even cooling Hakuri’s injured finger with ice.
This is the second arc and we now have confirmation of two human groups with unique genetic properties.
Char Kyonagi and the Kyonagi Family had the unique ability to regenerate and the ice skin woman and possibly Uran possess a unique ice feature.
Perhaps this woman joined the Hishaku to gain an Enchanted Blade and avenge her clan.
If the genetic feature does not count as Sorcery, she can have ice powers and an Enchanted Blade to boot.
Is it also possible that Uran is the Hishaku who can reattach limbs?
Uran is not impressed but she finds the effort of the Kamunabi cute.
Meanwhile, the still nameless “Jeanist” Hishaku comments on how Uran and Bingo are just too strong.
Uran asks if Bingo enjoys eating human flesh but he says what he has always told her: it tastes bad yet this is the only way his powers can be used.
Uran remarks that if he eats too much, he will get sleepy.
Bingo says that the Kamunabi they just faced are fodder but the ones coming are elites, so he has to save up energy to take them on.
As he yawns, he sees that elite squad come in.
A blonde Kamunabi member holds out a comb to give to his superior, a guy with a chomage hairstyle, who declares that he will handle this alone, given how many Kamunabi died.
While he combs himself for battle, we cut back to Kiri and Hakari running in the hallways, where they run into Ichiki, who is riding on Azami’s back, who Kiri rudely calls the “important people”.
She might get fired if any of the other Kamunabi leaders hear her attitude.
Or not because of how skilled she is.
The pair were just about to head for the Shinuchi and now, they all take an elevator.
Azami remarks that the Execution Grounds are closed due to the battles going on.
We see the young man Hishaku meet a Visor Sorcerer and another man.
Since many people died for Hakuri’s sake, Azami is glad at least Uruha is still alive.
Ichiki intends to hold a memorial service for Kudou and the other fallen soldiers after this situation is settled.
Ichiki is still worried about the Hishaku’s motives since there is nothing to gain from this reckless invasion.
First of all, they intentionally revealed the Shinuchi during the Rakuzaichi.
If they had beforehand tampered with the Shinuchi so it could be activated remotely in the form of a trigger, then handing it over to the Kamunabi would be as if sending a detonator inside.
During the sealing process, the Kamunabi investigated the box thoroughly looking for any signs of tampering.
This makes Ichiki worry as there is always a chance of a trap coming.
The elevator clicks and they finally enter the chamber holding the Shinuchi.
The chapter ends as Hakuri looks at the Shinuchi, and activates his mask.
After 15 chapters of setup since Hakuri’s recovery, we have finally made it.
Editor’s note: “Finally.. they’re here.
Next issue, things speed up RAPIDLY! And in that, what will come of Hakuri — !”
