HAKURI IS BACK!!! Kagurabachi Chapter 78 Spoilers!
Has Hakuri fully recovered? Will we finally see Kagurabachi’s main trio finally forming?

In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Samura dispels Hiruhiko’s spell over the underworld hotel and prepares to finish him off.
Kagurabachi Chapter 78 is titled, “Replacement”
This chapter has 19 pages.
The chapter begins with Hiruhiko crying over his injuries as he can no longer move.
Is he finally going to die?
Chihiro notes that it is understandable why Hiruhiko is unable to move as he has exhausted all his spiritual energy from his Enchanted Blade moves but what surprises him most is Samura himself.
Chihiro is stunned by Samura’s ability to not only completely neutralize Hiruhiko’s attacks but even maintain the Owl across Japan for several days straight without breaking a sweat.
Chihiro confirms that Suzaku does not actually grant immortality or regeneration, as proven by how Samura’s eyes are not healed.
The technique cannot meddle with a person’s life or death, meaning if Samura did die from the Kumeyuri’s Play
Instead, Suzaku consumes a lot of spirit energy and therefore has a limit to regeneration.
Chihiro’s knowledge from the records no longer applies to Samura.
This means that Samura has completely mastered Suzaku or has changed the nature of the ability over the course of 18 years since the start of the Seitei War.
Samura now turns his attention to putting a stop to Hiruhiko.
Suddenly, he feels someone behind the peephole and indeed, Kuguri appears to clash with Samura
Kuguri activates his sorcery, Hagure, which stores up the “heat” generated internally during combat among other activities, converts it into “energy” that can then be unleashed all at once, at his desired disposal.
Being the combat maniac that he is, Kuguri has done nothing but use his sword in battle for seven months straight, allowing him to unleash much energy to blow up the hotel wall and get Hiruhiko out of danger.
Yes, Chihiro’s rival lives to see another day.
Toto uses Flame Teleportation and checks on Hiruhiko and it seems that this time, Hiruhiko will not get his arm back.
This kid keeps losing arms throughout this arc.
However, Kumeyuri was actually taken by Samura, held by his sandal.
It seems like the Sword Bearer Assassination Arc ends with the Hishaku failing to stop Samura but they will still proceed with the plan to steal the Shinuchi and deal with the Sword Saint.
Suddenly, the area is snowing
Kuguri is shaken by just how powerful Samura truly is, that the effect of dispelling the Owl causes the weather to change.
While Toto and Kuguri converse, Hiruhiko wakes up and declares that he will kill Chihiro.
Hiruhiko cries over how there was no hatred in Chihiro’s eyes.
We return to the underworld hotel where Samura confronts Chihiro about wielding the Enchanted Blade again
Chihiro explains that he has heard everything, including the Sword Saint’s sin, the Malediction ability.
Samura clarifies that the Sword Saint is the bad guy, not Chihiro’s father, who only had good intentions with creating the Enchanted Blades.
Samura tells Chihiro that he will kill the Sword Saint, which will kill all the other Enchanted Blade wielders for the sake of Iori and the future.
However, Chihiro opposes Samura’s path, saying that what Iori really needs is her father, and that Chihiro chooses to wield the Enchanted Blade again to stop Samura from losing himself.
Now we cut to Tokyo, where Yura begins the operation by making a tree root sprout and the Kamunabi sensor, who has a device over his head, notices Yura and the Hat Hishaku’s presence.
In Kamunabi Headquarters, a sorcerer relays to the higher-ups a report from the Masumi, that the Owl clearing up and that the Masumi came into contact with Samura.
Azami also reports that three Hishaku members have been spotted around the premises of the hotel and that the Kamunabi have confirmed the location of the Kumeyuri.
Suddenly, a bell starts ringing, alerting everyone of an enemy attack.
The sensor says that the barrier is being poked at directly above the Shinuchi, using a sorcery called Pine Trees.
This allows the Kamunabi to identify this attack as a Hishaku one.
The Kamunabi Headquarters holds the Shinuchi and further deep below, the Sword Saint.
This underground facility in Tokyo, housing over 500 personnel including non-combatants, is protected by a rectangular barrier.
The Hat Hishaku remarks that the barrier being stiff is as expected.
The Big Beard Kamunabi orders for the Hishaku to be let in and to unlock the first layer because their primary duty is safekeeping the public from the threats of sorcery, so they must avoid making the surface a battlefield at any cost.
The sensor identifies seven visitors and Chihiro’s intel revealed that the Hishaku have ten members in total, with 3 (Toto, Kuguri and Hiruhiko in Kyoto), which means the remaining seven are in Tokyo.
This is the entirety of the Hishaku coming to attack the Kamunabi.
Azami intends to face them.
The midget Kamunabi suspects that their numbers were to push around Samura and had been waiting for the Owl to dissipate, primarily by being lured by an Enchanted Blade like Hiruhiko coming to Chihiro or to kidnap Iori, his daughter.
Now the headquarters will turn into a battlefield as calls for evacuation are made for the non-combatants
Someone checks up on a certain person within the infirmary and it is Hakuri!
Hakuri was sent for a supposedly long recovery period after Chapter 59: “Dark Turn of Events”, having suffered from overusing his Storehouse ability.
Given how much damage he sustained throughout the arc, we might not be able to see him at full potential or maybe even see him get quite maimed, unlike Hiruhiko, who just keeps losing arms.
The final act for the Sword Bearer Assassination Arc has begun
Are we finally formomg the main Kagurabachi trio of Chihiro, Hakuri and Iori?
Editor’s note: “In Kyoto, Chihiro, in Tokyo, Hakuri. Their two battlefields start to move.”
Kagurabachi Chapter 79 will be released on May 18, 2025.
