Solo Leveling Season 2, Dragon Ball Daima, and More Receive Astra Award Nominations
On May 15, 2025, film critics in the Hollywood Creative Alliance (formerly the Hollywood Critics Association) announced that Solo Leveling Season 2 receive 3 Astra Award nominations for “BEST Anime”, “Best English Lead Voice Actor” & “Best English Supporting Voice Actor” for Aleks Le (Sung Jinwoo) & Justin Briner (Yoo Jinho).
The other Best Anime nominations include DAN DA DAN, Dragon Ball Daima, Fire Force Season 3, Lazarus and The Apothecary Diaries Season 2.
Additional English Voice Actor nominations include Stephanie Nadolny (Mini Goku – Dragon Ball Daima), Johnny Yong Bosch (Dante- Devil May Cry), Xolo Mariduena (Heisuke Mashimo- Sakamoto Days) and Caitlin Glass (Nefertari Vivi- One Piece Season 21/Egghead Part 1).
The Best Lead Voice-Over Performance and Best Supporting Voice-Over Performance Awards mix both anime and western cartoon shows, which included Alex Borstein and Seth MacFarlane from Family Guy: Holiday Special  and Kaley Cuoco (Harley Quinn).
For supporting roles, this also includes J.K. Simmons (Omni Man- Invincible), Jack Quaid (Brad Boimler- Star Trek: Lower Decks), and Jamie Chung (Harley Quinn- Batman: Caped Crusader)
Dragon Ball Daima also received a nomination for “Favorite Cartoon” at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award 2025, the first of its kind since Pokemon in 2000.
The 2025 Astra TV Awards will take place at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles on June 10, 2025.
