Dragon Ball Daima Makes History With Surprising Nod
Will Dragon Ball Daima make history as the first anime to win the Kid’s Choice Awards?
On May 16, 2025, it was announced that Dragon Ball Daima would be nominated for Favorite Cartoon at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2025, the first anime to be nominated since Pokémon in 2000.
Although Dragon Ball Daima did not air on Nickelodeon, there have been cases of non-Nickelodeon shows winning the award, with the most recent and only case being the Simpsons in 2002.
It is noted that SpongeBob SquarePants has the most awards by a winning streak with 16 wins and an overall 21 wins to its belt since in 2003, having won the 2024 Favorite Cartoon category as well and is also among the nominees for this year’s Awards.
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards or KCAs is an American annual awards ceremony show produced by Nickelodeon since 1987.
