Jujutsu Kaisen Editor Reveals That Manga Is Not Ending Soon
The editor says that the manga is not ending anytime soon
During AnimeExpo 2023, we received a message from Jujutsu Kaisen’s author and the editor.
Gege Akutami, the author of the series, said,
“I can’t speak English but only Japanese, and I have never even travelled outside of Japan.
So the fact that my manga has been able to cross the ocean and be enjoyed by so many people feels so mysterious to me. But also, I‘m very grateful.
I’ll do my best to meet fans’ expectations all over the world as I wrap up the Jujutsu Kaisen story and as I also work on future manga as well.”
On December 17, 2022, during the Jump Festa ’23, Gege shared the heartbreaking news of Jujutsu Kaisen ending in about a year.
And in the recent comment by Gege’s editor during AnimeExpo 2023, he shed more light on the status of the manga.
The editor said that the manga is not ending anytime soon but is in its wrapping-up phase. This has relieved fans of the series.
About Jujutsu Kaisen
The Jujutsu Kaisen TV anime is based on manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Gege Akutami.
Gege Akutami started its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018.
The author shared that he plans to end the manga by the end of this year.
In October 2020, Mappa adapted the manga into a TV anime that ran for 24 episodes.
The second season will run for two cours consecutively starting July 6 and cover the Hidden Inventory Arc in the first cour.
In the second cour, the anime will cover the Shibuya Incident Arc.
