This leak could have revealed the full schedule for the Steel Ball Run anime
After the release of the first 47-minute long episode on March 19, 2026, a Reddit user named crossleboss reveals that they have insider information on the planned release for the rest of the series.
With how correct they were with the date and episode count, we can assume the rest could be true and the prediction is as follows:
After the second cour, with the total of 11 episodes, that is set for September 25, 2026, the third cour will be released on June 2027 with 12 episodes.
Within our predictions, that would cover the 4th to 7th Stages
The 4th Stage is the entire A Man’s World Arc (Chapters 32 to 35), the Green Tomb Arc (Chapters 36 to 37), and the Catch the Rainbow Arc (Chapters 38 to 39).
This means that the 4th stage will cover Episodes 13 to 16.
The 5th Stage is the entire In A Silent Way Arc (Chapters 40 to 44).
This might cover Episodes 18 and 19.
The 6th Stage encompasses The Land of Promises: Sugar Mountain (Chapters 45 to 47), Tubular Bells (Chapters 48 to 50), and Wrecking Ball (Chapters 51 to 54), ending on Chapter 55: “The Victor’s Rights” for a total of 11 chapters.
This will be about 6 episodes long, covering Episodes 20 and 25.
The fourth cour will then be released on October 2027 with 10 episodes.
This will cover the 7th and 8th Stages.
The 7th Stage covers the Civil War Arc (Chapters 56 to 59)
This will be 2 episodes long, from Episodes 26 to 27
The 8th Stage is the longest but has the least connection to the Steel Ball Run race itself, as it includes the Both Sides Now Arc (Chapters 60 and 61), the events of Chapters 62 and 63, Chocolate Disco (Chapters 64 and 65), D4C Arc (Chapters 66 to 69, Chapters 73 to 82), Ticket to Ride Arc (Chapters 71 and 72) in between the D4C Arc, Ball Breaker Arc (Chapters 83 to 87), and Break My Heart, Break Your Heart Arc (Chapters 88 to 89).
However, due to its length, it will likely end in the middle of Part 2 of the D4C Arc or perhaps by Chapter 77: “D4C Part 10” when Lucy has fully absorbed the Corpse but before Johnny and Gyro reach the train for a total of 18 chapters and 8 episodes.
The fifth and final cour will be released on May 2028 and will have 9 episodes.
This will cover the rest of the 8th and 9th Stages.
Considering the amount of action involved, this will the most tightly-paced cour.
The remainder will likely be around 6 episodes, covering Chapters 78 to 89, a total of 12 chapters.
The 9th and final Stage includes the High Voltage Arc (Chapters 90 to 93), and The World of the Stars and Stripes Arc (Chapters 94 and 95).
This will have 3 episodes.
Altogether, the user states the whole series will have a total of 43 episodes, made up of the special episode and 4 cours, and will be released across a 2-year duration.
