Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Finale Key Visual and Songs Revealed

Bleach TYBW Cour 4 provided one of its best key visuals, giving a full circle moment to the dynamic between Ichigo and Yhwach that has been built up since the very beginning of Bleach

On June 21, 2026, we got the main key visual for Cour 4 of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War

The key visual shows Ichigo wielding his true Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu against Yhwach, who floats surrounded by eyes from his Soul King powers.

Notably, around the ruined battlefield, with Sokokyu Hill from behind, we see many blades, representing all the unique forms Zangetsu took throughout the series, starting to the left with the gigantic cleaver from the Substitute Soul Reaper Arc (Chapters 1-70, Episodes 1-20), on the opposite side is the refined Shikai at the end of the aforementioned arc used up to when Ichigo lost his powers at the end of the Arrancar Arc (Chapter 183-423, Episode 110-310), his first Tensa Zangetsu form, his second Tensa Zangetsu as a result of his restored powers fusing with his Fullbring that was used up to the end of Cour 1 of the Thousand Year Blood War, the two blades of his true Shikai and two other replica blades, which represent the inspiration behind this key visual: the Bankai Training with Old Man Zangetsu.

The symbolism here is important as Old Man Zangetsu was the one to teach Ichigo Bankai by choosing the sword that was the real Zangetsu, the one meant to defeat Old Man Zangetsu.

Since Yhwach’s Almighty destroys anything in the future, this is fitting as Ichigo will go through every form of his power until the real one remains unbroken, hidden within the shells of his identity and power, to kill Yhwach for good.

The caption is quite fitting to this idea and it is as follows:  “Thus the final blade was brought down.”

Opening Theme

The final opening of the Bleach series is “I-BULL” by jo0ji, who most recently made the ending theme for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game, titled “”Yoake no uta”, which was a tribute to the protagonist Yuji Itadori’s struggles.

Kubo explained that the staff received many song proposals and Kubo wanted “an opening theme with a strong impact and a powerful presence.”I was already familiar with jo0ji’s music and had been a fan of his work.

However, when I listened to the demo, I felt there were a few parts that could be improved. So I told him I’d like to discuss those points if he was willing to refine the song.

He happily agreed. I then gave him some feedback, such as:
*”I really like this part.” *”This section works really well.”

* Along with several other requests and suggestions. When he came back with the revised version, it was almost an entirely different song from the original demo-and it was genuinely incredible.

The moment I heard it, I knew it was the right choice.

What impressed me the most was the sheer power and intensity of the track. With every discussion we had, it kept getting better and better, and each time I became even more convinced that this was the perfect opening theme for the final cour.

Ending Theme

The final ending theme of the Bleach anime is “Rasen” by 9Lana, who did “Let Me Battle” from the 2023 Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

Kubo explained that from the demos they got, 9Lana’s stood out the most, with excellent melody, lyrics and arrangement.

“I also really liked the intro, and I felt it would flow naturally after the story’s events, giving viewers a perfect sense of closure as the episode ends.”

The first three episodes have been released in Japan today in cinemas.
