A DIFFERENT ENDING! What to Expect from Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War: The Calamity
After 4 years, we enter the conclusion of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War with Cour 4 opening up on Yhwach’s final fate and ending with one of the best fights in the entire series.
In the previous Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War episode, Uryu reveals his true purpose was to destroy Yhwach with his secret ability and we get the layout for the final battles: Yoruichi faces off against Askin Nakk Le Vaar the Deathdealing, the majority of the Gotei 13 face off against Gerald Valkyrie the Miracle that grew to his God Size, Uryu Ishida vs Jugram Haschwalth the Balance and Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue against Yhwach the Almighty
Episode Titles
The first three episodes of the Cour are compiled into the Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War: Calamity film that is screened a month ahead of the official release worldwide.
Episode 41 is titled “God of Thunder”
Meanwhile, Episode 42 is titled, “Son of Darkness”
And finally, Episode 43 is titled, “Blood for my Bone”
Chapters Adapted

There will be nine chapters worth of pages to adapt, touching on the pages from a total of twelve chapters.
Episode 41 will adapt Chapter 662: “God of Thunder 3” and Chapter 663: “God of Thunder 4”, where the chapter title is from, and Chapter 672: “Son of Darkness”, (pages 7-9, 13-17) for a total of 50 pages adapted.
However, Episode 42 will adapt Chapter 664: “The Gift”, Chapter 665: “The Princess Dissection”, Chapter 666: ” Dull, Doll, Null” (pages 1-13) and Chapter 673: “Father” (pages 5-17) for a total of 60 pages adapted.
Episode 43 will adapt Chapter 658: “Fatal Matters are Cold” (pages 7-17), Chapter 659: “There Will Be Frost” (pages 1-5), Chapter 666: “Dull, Doll, Null” (pages 14-17), Chapter 667: “Bigger, Louder, Stronger”, Chapter 668: “Bigger, Faster, Stronger” (pages 1-4), and Chapter 675: “Blood of My Bone”, where the episode title is from for a total of 59 pages adapted.
Altogether, the compilation movie will adapt a total of 169 pages or a full volume of content, which is expected for a 67 minute film.
The division of fights is varied but for the most part, it looks like Haschwalth vs Uryu will be scattered throughout, Askin vs Yoruichi will take place in the first episode, the full fight between Kisuke Urahara and Askin will take place in the second episode, and Gerard’s fights begin in the third episode.
The shorter manga content for the next two episodes is filled up for Haschwalth vs Uryu, the first half of which is anime-original.
Besides remnants of Chapters 668, alongside all of Chapters 669 to 671, this leaves Chapter 676: “Horn of Salvation” onwards to be adapted, meaning there are only thirteen chapters left to adapt from the remaining episodes of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War.
The Fans Won

It is confirmed that the “God of Thunder” title drop will indeed take the form of the iconic shot of Yoruichi’s rear.
In some manga copies, this panel is censored and replaced with a cooler page of Yoruichi raining down lightning.
Tite Kubo might have made sure his original work would really be shown in the anime.
Animation Quality
A lot of fans who have witnessed the movie format have confirmed that the movie feels like a better experience than most anime films.
Most importantly, it is confirmed that the original series’ Spiritual Pressure sound and effects have returned, which we would likely see with Orihime being overwhelmed by Yhwach’s Spiritual Pressure crush and when Ichigo also unleashes his own Spiritual Pressure.
Haschwalth’s NEW FORM

There is going to be a lot added to the offscreened first part of Uryu’s fight against Haschwalth.
In the trailers, we have seen Uryu use his Vollstandig against Haschwalth.
Now it seems like Haschwalth has revealed a Vollstandig-esque form by applying the power of the Almighty.
Unlike in the manga where we do not see the Almighty used in the offscreened first half of the fight, here, we do see exactly how Haschwalth uses it, with some fans commenting he has a form akin to Ulquiorra Cifer’s Resurrecion Segunda Etapa.

Dali Chen has directed multiple Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War episodes, as early as Episode 19: “The White Haze” in Cour 2 but he is a surprising choice for a first episode as it is not Hikaru Murata, the current director since Cour 3, or even Tomohisa Taguchi, the overall director for the series.
However, he has been trusted with the final episode of Cour 2, Episode 26: “The Master” and has only directed one episode for Cour 3, Episode 33: “Gate of the Sun”, which is mostly anime-original as it covers Uryu’s fight against Renji that never happened in the manga.
This could mean that “God of Thunder” could have some significant additions in terms of plot and action.
