In the previous Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest chapters, Mirajane and Elfman took down the last remaining Books of Faris with their new powerups, courtesy of Alegria and Aldoron respectively.

Laxus Finally Gets a Cat

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Chapter 197 is titled, “The Flames’ Smell”

Released on October 30, 2025, this chapter has 20 pages.

The chapter cover shows all the Exceed lining up and dancing to a song on the radio, except for Fortune.

Happy is Natsu’s, Carla is Wendy’s, Pantherlily is Gajeel’s, Lester is Sting’s and Frosch is Rouge’s.

Cobra or Erik has his own companion in the form of Cubellios, who became the Fairy Tail member Kinana, her human form restored after an evil mage’s curse turned her into a snake. and they are dating.

This leaves Laxus without an animal companion.

The chapter begins with Freed and Mest noticing a flood of black water swallowing up the people throughout Guiltina.

Worried about Fairy Tail Team B being on Aldoron, Macao and the others rally the Fairy Tail members to try and go after them.

Makarov asks them what they can do against a tough foe.

This was in reference to all the way back in Chapter 56, to them fighting one of Aldoron’s God Seeds, Doom, but Wendy carried them with her Enchantment.

While this is happening, the whole guild realizes Laxus was never actually with them.

Were they unaware of his absence for the past few hours?

While Laxus was transported by one of Bestia’s portals, he finds Fortune sobbing after failing to stop Ignia last time.

Laxus tries to help the little Exceed up but Fortune warns him that he will get burned if he touches her.

However, Laxus remarks that he is used to fire, referring to Natsu.

This is an inverse of Happy’s dynamic with Natsu, a normal Exceed who built a solid fire resistance after a lifetime of being Natsu’s partner.

Laxus can handle Fortune, providing a supportive partner who would not leave her and someone who is not afraid to touching her at the same time.

Fortune mentions wanting to stop Ignia and this leads to Laxus looking serious, with lightning flickering.

We then cut to the aftermath of the battles against the Six Books of Faris, again Natsu calling them Bestia’s friends, which she has to clarify again is not the case.

Then as Natsu cheers on Gajeel’s fight against Zero, Bestia notices that Natsu’s arms are not restrained.

We see Natsu eating Bestia’s flames, which he remembers are the ones that Fortune said are special and can awaken his power, so he eats up his restraints easily.

Natsu remarks these flames smell like Igneel, which gives Bestia a sad expression.

For months, fans have speculated that she, like Ignia, has some deeper connection to Igneel that she has been hesitating about.

Some think she is a human from the past since we do not know what she actually looks like as a human, if she was even human to begin with.

So Natsu jumps to the conclusion and thinks Bestia is a reincarnated Igneel.

She attempts to respond.

But recent chapters reveal the setup about Igneel’s flames awakening Natsu’s power…were for an even bigger reveal than this.

Suddenly, Fortune arrives with Laxus, the former using Aqua Aera to hop dimensions.

Poor Bestia, she feels violated, like everyone who comes into her personal dimension has no regard for her space.

Bestia attempts to stop Natsu and Laxus from leaving but the chapter ends with Natsu thanking Bestia for the meal.

Bestia is from Alvarez?

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Chapter 198 is titled, “Bestia’s Recollections”

Released on November 12, 2025, this chapter has 20 pages.

The chapter cover shows Erza kick boxing while Natsu watches outside the ring.

The chapter begins with Natsu showing off his boosted magic, which he still has no idea about.

Bestia remarks that the flames are “in a way Igneel’s” but she only learned about it afterward.

Bestia identifies Natsu as the younger brother of Emperor Spriggan.

Laxus has to remind him that Spriggan is Zeref’s other name as ruler of the Alvarez Empire.

Bestia mentions that she and Natsu have met once before, when he used Igneel’s power.

But Natsu does not remember her specifically and that is because.

Bestia was one of the thousands of soldiers in Alvarez who witnessed the fight between Natsu and their emperor.

After the war, Bestia gathered the residual magic left behind and preserved it, however she was unable to actually use those flames.

That was when Ignia found her.

This means that Bestia was a newer member of the Fire and Flame Guild and yet rose to the position of Commander within the span of a year.

When Natsu realized he ate Igneel’s power, he cried out of nostalgia for his adopted father and hugs Bestia, saying she is a good person for preserving his power.

The mood changes when Bestia builds up pressure within her dimension, noting that he was not supposed to regain Igneel’s power.

While she was ordered not to kill Natsu, Bestia remarks that Natsu has become too much of a threat.

Natsu tells her to try being in a guild instead of serving under someone, with Laxus noting that Makarov may be the guild master but he is more like a father.

This angers Bestia as she brings down stone pillars upon the Dragon Slayers.

Laxus asks if Fortune can open a portal for them but turns out, Bestia sealed the dimension off now.

Using Igneel’s power, Natsu unleashes Fire Dragon King’s Demolishing Strike to take down Bestia, allowing Fortune to open up an Aqua Aera portal

Suddenly the flames Natsu formed dissipate due to how much power he exerted, which also led to Natsu being knocked out.

Laxus carries Natsu out as they leave Bestia’s dimension and reunite with Lucy and the rest.

However, Grey and Elefseria warn Laxus not to touch the ground as they will be Dragonized

Laxus decides to head out and take care of the Aldoron situation.

Brain’s Backstory!

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Chapter 199 is titled, “Indestructible Resolve”

Released on November 26, 2025, this chapter has 20 pages.

The chapter cover shows Gajeel lifting up Levy in his arms.

A true ship that have set off.

Laxus asks the rest if beating Aldoron will stop the Dragonization.

Happy asks if they can trust Laxus with Natsu, with Laxus saying that he is like his little brother so he will take care of him.

After the defeat of five of the Six Books of Faris, Elfman is shocked that the demons reverted to Book form, with Elfman remarking to Richard that demons are his sister’s favorite food.

Suddenly, Aldoron is shaking, with Juvia asking if this is just the result of her love for Gray.

Meredy worries if Juvia is okay, if she ever is.

Gajeel wonders if the Dragon God is mad but Zero promises that he will destroy Gajeel after defeating Aldoron.

Gajeel brags about the time he fought Aldoron, the time when Brandish chose to grow him as a giant for 3 minutes.

He is looking forward to the day he will brag about it to his future child with Levy.

Macbeth is shocked that Gajeel is married but Gajeel clarifies that it is not official yet.

Yet he is excited about the feeling of living for someone else.

Disliking Zero’s philosophy of destruction, Gajeel insists on a life protecting someone else.

Yet for Zero, destruction is justice, joy, the proof someone has lived.

Sounds like how Gaara was before being reformed by Naruto.

Zeor intends to deliver Gajeel’s body to his woman in pieces, then do the same to her.

That immediately gets him an Iron Fist, triggered by this threat to Levy.

Zero says he is excited to see Gajeel’s eyes of destruction from when he was back in Phantom Lord.

Gajeel says that he has changed but for Zero, destroyers never change.

This leads into the long-awaited backstory for Brain, the original personality of Zero.

A younger Brain witnessed the death of all five of his children at the hands of bandits.

His people tell him not to look, as one of them was only left with his hands.

This is…even more brutal than what happened to Acnologia’s village in the anime or anything really.

Those bandits were beyond evil.

Brain moruned the loss of the five children he swore to protect following his wife’s passing.

Zero was born from this despair, the desire to destroy out of revenge.

Over time, that turned to pleasure.

Similar to Acnologia.

But unlike Acnologia, Brain found a second lease in life when he adopted five children from the Tower of Heaven, all to seal away Zero and allow Brain to live as himself.

Back in the present, Gajeel rises back up, saying that people do change and that when he resolved to be a parent, he lost any desire to destroy a single thing.

With Karma Demon: Iron God Sword, Gajeel cuts down Zero.
