Fairy Tail Celebrates 20th Anniversary With a Hint Towards More Projects
Fairy Tail might be cooking up something big for this year. Will it be a new manga or a sequel to the HERO’S crossover from 7 years ago?
On January 7, 2026, Hiro Mashima releases an illustration commemorating the Fairy Tail manga’s 20th anniversary since its release on August 2, 2006
Along with the illustration, Mashima has also hinted that there will be more projects to look forward to within 2026.
This could be the announcement of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Season 2, which could adapt another 90 chapters or so of content or Edens Zero Season 3, with both series done by JC Staff, infamous for their adaptation of One Punch Man Season 3.
Alternatively, there might be another Fairy Tail-related manga or even a special.
Around the 20th anniversary of Rave Master (1999 to 2005) on October 16, 2019, Mashima wrote a single-volume story called HERO that featured a crossover of Rave Master, Fairy Tail and Edens Zero (2018-2024) and their respective protagonists, Haru Glory, Natsu Dragneel and Shiki Granbell
Mashima has considered making a sequel to the story.
Currently, Mashima is working on the sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, which has 202 chapters and 22 volumes as of writing and the monthly series, Dead Rock, which has 31 chapters and 6 volumes as of writing
Fairy Tail was originally released from August 2, 2026 to July 26, 2017 with 63 volumes and a total of 545 chapters.
