Team Natsu vs Team Eraser! Fairy Tail – Re:Fantasia Chapters 5 to 6 Review!
Maybe Mashima should have cooked these fights a little better, even with the small amount of chapters to cover.
In the previous Fairy Tail – Re:Fantasia chapter, it turns out that Eraser was hired by Raven Tail’s master and Laxus’s evil father, Ivan Dreyar.
Ivan’s Backstory
Fairy Tail – Re:Fantasia Chapter 5 is titled, “Moratorium”
Released on September 2, 2026, this chapter has 20 pages.
The cover shows the Phantom Lord Arc as we see Juvia and Gajeel behind Phantom Lord’s Guild Hall.
Team Natsu drives into the empty town of Onibas.
In an underground room, Laxus sees a grandfather clock.
Ivan enters, revealing Laxus was inside a Lacrima he made and this is where Laxus learns about his father being the mastermind of the whole plot.
The Lacrima prevents Laxus from using magic.
Here, Ivan finally reveals why he left Fairy Tail, basically the same story as Laxus rebelling during the Battle of Fairy Tail Arc.
Ivan saw his magic was less powerful than Makarov’s and he was not as loved by everyone as he was.
The turning point was when Yelena, Laxus’ mother and Ivan’s wife, left Ivan.
Ever since then, Ivan left the Guild to become a Lacrima researcher, which explains how Ivan was able to convert the heart of the Lightning Dragon King Elexion into a Lacrima and implant it into his own son when he was a child.
Ivan calls out Makarov for not paying attention to his family but it is clear Ivan was the same to his wife and son.
Laxus tells his father that sharing blood does not spare him his wrath if he is a threat to the Guild.
Meanwhile, Gray spots Laxus’ coat but is once again nude and Natsu and Wendy collapse from their motion sickness.
Carla spots two Happy’s but as it turns out, one of them is Mirajane, who joined them out of worry for Laxus.
Carla finds the entrance while Mirajane uses Transformation Magic to look like a weird merger of Natsu and Wendy, which makes Lucy wish Mirajane did not tag along.
Suddenly, the ground opens up and brings them to an abandoned railway, with Natsu and Wendy turning motion sick somehow.
Ivan notifies Laxus about his friends coming to save him, with Laxus asking his dad what he wants, which has always been the same: Fairy Tail.
Once he activates the White Lacrima, Fairy Tail will be his.
Clean senses the intruders, with Vector saying that Demolus is on it.
With Gray separated from the rest, Demolus appears before Gray, pretending to be Juvia, even wearing her clothes, which is tied to the cover and as a way to remind both Gray and the audience of Juvia’s starting out as an early villain.
This feels like a lowkey fourth wall break.
Fairy Tail’s Quick Fight Against Team Eraser
Fairy Tail – Re:Fantasia Chapter 6 is titled, “Fairies Dance”
Released on September 9th, this chapter has 20 pages.
The cover features Lucy with her Celestial Spirits, Loke, Virgo and Taurus, representing the Loke Arc where Loke reveals himself not as a human member of Fairy Tail but as a Celestial Spirit.
Demolus cuts the charade and begins turning his Juvia costume into stone but Demolus can also turn the surrounding walls and floor into moving stone with his magic.
Gray thinks the two can get along.
Meanwhile, Erza and Wendy see a rushing train that Erza charges towards, splitting it clean in half in her Demon Blade Benizakura while wearing her Clear Heart Clothing.
Again, Carla is reminding us that Fairy Tail could potentially and accidentally kill people without thinking as Erza did not consider if people were on the train.
Clean jumps down from above to attack Erza, with Carla warning her that Clean might be using Fuel Magic to move the train on its own and turn the lights on but in reality, Clean’s power is to “clean up” people’s Magic.
Meanwhile, Natsu and Lucy end up facing the White Lacrima, which has the Raven Tail emblem.
Vector appears, using his Magic to make the ground into waves and turn it into water, the perfect opportunity to summon Aquarius and Lucy tells Natsu to attack Vector now.
Wendy replenishes Erza’s lost magic with her Enchantment and Gray lectures Demolus to do better in imitating Juvia.
We see everyone finish off Team Eraser.
Laxus sees the grandfather clock and remembers how Ivan waved the number three, hinting something will happen during the Harvest Festival at 3:00 PM, which is in 10 minutes.
