Sakamoto and Shin Flashback Begins!! Sakamoto Days Chapter 195 Spoilers!
We are heading into Prime Sakamoto Days indeed in the next chapter.
In the previous Sakamoto Days chapter, Tenkyu and Shin continue their battle, with Shin managing to destroy Tenkyu’s left eye and was about to kill him until Taro Sakamoto stops him.
Day 195 is titled, “I Know”
This chapter has 19 pages.
Editor’s Note: “Shin and Tenkyu are in a life-or-death battle, and elsewhere… what’s happening with Heisuke..!?”
We begin the chapter half an hour ago as Torres faces Heisuke and Atari, with Torres asking the fortune teller to predict the outcome of his horse racing ticket.
Torres has a flashback to the time Oki, Order’s leader, tells him to go to the Assassin Association’s prison but Torres complains, saying it is better to leave the fortune-teller alone as she is safer inside the prison.
Oki reveals that to keep Atari’s powers safe, the JAA chairman, Sei Asaki, kept her imprisoned but now someone is going after her
Torres asks why would Oki and the JAA upper echelons be obsessed with fortunetelling, seeing that no fortune teller could accurately predict his luck at all.
Oki reveals that Atari is completely different and beyond human comprehension, a Laplace’s Demon.
Side note: Laplace’s Demon is a philosophical term that refers to a hypothetical being capable of knowing everything about the past and present, thus predicting the future with absolute precision.
Oki hopes to make Atari into a weapon rivaling Takamura.
Torres returns to the present, taking Atari as Heisuke and Hoshi are down on the floor, as he is disappointed at how everyone is so reliant on fortune telling that they miss out good opportunities.
Interesting lines from someone who is obsessed with gambling, a luck-based activity.
Heisuke demands that Torres let Atari go since the JAA overworked her to the point that she has now lost her luck.
Torres lectures Heisuke on determinism, which is related to Atari as Laplace’s demon.
For Torres, both Atari and himself cannot help themselves as fate designed this way: Torres as an assassin with a mission and Atari as Laplace’s demon that predicts the future.
This is what compels Torres to gamble, to bet that as a being of free will, he can defy fate to some extent.
Perhaps even kidnapping Atari might determine where he would go after this.
Suddenly, Taro Sakamoto comes in to kick Torres away, having tracked Shin through the GPS signal that emitted a distress alert.
Heisuke tells Sakamoto that Shin is beneath them and that he is planning to quit the store and return to becoming an assassin.
Hoshi tries to stop Sakamoto, telling him that Atari will be in danger if he leaves.
Torres rises up, saying he is fine if he goes after Shin but he will take Atari and kill Heisuke and Hoshi if they get in his way.
Sakamoto tells Heisuke to give him 10 minutes and hands him his rifle to stop Torres.
Piisuke also pops in.
Atari notes that the gun and bird are powerful lucky items for Heisuke that provide the latter with safety and good energy.
Torres notes how Sakamoto is making a gamble on Heisuke keeping Torres at bay but Sakamoto tells him that this is not a gamble but a guarantee.
After blitzing through the pipes, Sakamoto arrives to stop Shin from killing Tenyku with the arrow, bringing us back to where we left off last chapter.
Sakamoto brings out Shin’s name tag but before they could leave, Tenkyu coughs out blood and Sakamoto tells Shin to provide first-aid.
However, Shin protests since Tenkyu threatened the Sakamoto family but Sakamoto tells him that he refuses to make his employee into a murderer.
Shin says it is impossible for him to go back and be a good person but Sakamoto pats him on the back, saying that he knows what kind of person Shin is.
We cut to a flashback from 9 years ago as we see a 19-year-old Taro Sakamoto meet a rough 13 year old Shin, who was brought in for questioning.
Editor’s Note: “And so, the curtain of the past is lifted…! In the next issue, an opening…”
Sakamoto Days Chapter 196 will be released on January 3, 2024.
