In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, three of the seven Hishaku invaders face off against Azami, one of the strongest elites of the Kamunabi.

Kagurabachi Chapter 80 is titled, “Hidden Room”

This chapter has 19 pages.

Editor’s note: “Run on into the battlefield!!”

The chapter begins in Kamunabi Headquarters Second Floor as Hakuri and Kudou enter a library full of books.

Kudou reveals that there are basic spells that anyone can use outside of their innate Sorcery residing in their bodies.

These spells for basic movement, barrier creation and others are packed in books.

Hakuri remarks that in spite of how prestigious his family is, the Kamunabi have a library double their size.

Kudou reveals that the Masumi excel in studying but also notes Hakuri is actually bad at studying.

Hakuri notices the vibrations going around, the sound of punching but Kudou assures him that they are protected with a barrier.

Kudou explains that there are seven experts on the same level, albeit different field, from the Masumi.

One is always at the center, rotated between the other six, to support the barrier.

This central figure was the sensor from Chapter 78: “Switch”.

Because of the support system, even if someone plans to pierce the barrier, it will never stop recovering so it is impenetrable, although sound can pass through to ensure people can hear.

Kudou also namedrops one of the Kamunabi leaders, the small old man Ichiki.

Kudou reveals that Azami, a colonel of the Kamunabi soldiers, is on a level above the higher-ups themselves and Kudou admits he himself is not made for combat.

Kudou explains that while the higher-ups are all aged, the younger leaders are more energetic as they have their own elite squads under them, most of them being within the Kamunabi Headquarters.

The total combat members in the Kamunabi that have completed the curriculum of their basic training is 300 strong, basically anyone with a katana.

We see Ikuto Hagiwara and some new characters, namely a large man with large hands, a smiling woman with long hair, a lanky fellow wearing a hat and in the center is a sullen young man. In another panel, we see a woman with glasses.

Kudou explains that the curriculum is comprised of martial arts that use spirit energy and basic sorcery, which means each Kamunabi combatant has a third of that library in their heads.

Azami and his men right now are hunting down the intruders and this leads us briefly to Azami, feeling uneasy about the situation as the intruders are not using datenseki weapons like in the Sanso.

It seems like, to Azami, that the normally-prepared Hishaku are in a hurry because a plan has gone wrong yet it is highly unusual if they just came here on a suicide mission to self-destruct.

Going to the elevator, Kudou speaks to Ishihara, one of the Kamunabi instructors.

Ishihara remarks on how young Hakuri is, with Kudou bringing up the Kamunabi’s lack of manpower, which is all the more reason to teach more Kamunabi members.

Ishihara notes how he has been sent to war once and shows a locket with a picture of his 4 year old daughter Yuki.

While he loves his country, Ishihara says his daughter is more important and suddenly pulls out a knife to cut his neck, which severs his head and releases what appears to be pinewood roots that destroys the elevator, separating Kudou from Hakuri, who falls down.

The barrier sorcerer senses explosions of spirit energy in four locations..

As he arrives on the bottom floor, Hakuri sees Pinewood Sorcery cover up the elevator and with Kudou’s bloodied gas mask, his fate remains uncertain.

Soon, two Kamunabi members find Hakuri but then they point direct their swords toward his neck.

One traitor complete on whether or not to kill Hakuri but the other guy says that the plan was to use Hakuri as bait to draw out the main forces.

The traitors say they are doing this for their families, just like Ishihara.

The Kamunabi were forced to betray their organization because the Hishaku held their families hostage.

In a different room, the Pine Sorcerer with the fedora calls someone to free Ishihara’s daughter now that his role is fulfilled.

It seems that the Hishaku have some sense of honor while still resorting to underhanded methods.

With blood floating, Hakuri registers the traitors’ katanas and transports them with Storehouse.

Even without weapons, the traitors are determined to knock Hakuri out.

As they keep beating him, Hakuri thinks of the worst case scenario of the elite squads being blackmailed like these mooks.

Hakuri understands that the Hishaku want the Kamunabi to kill each other.

Hakuri rises and activates Isou to knock out the two traitors rather than kill them and trigger the Pinewood Sorcery.

In spite being nerfed, Hakuri’s Isou nearly broke the walls of the hallway.

Hakuri heads for where the Shinuchi is and declares that he is now part of the Kamunabi main forces.

Editor’s note: “The chaos in the Kamunabi Headquarters peaks! What destiny awaits Hakuri….!?”
