In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Hakuri recovers amidst the Hishaku’s 7-man invasion of the Kamunabi.

Kagurabachi Chapter 79 is titled, “Villain”.

This chapter has 19 pages.

The chapter begins with Hakuri asking the gas mask-wearing Kamunabi, who introduces himself as Kudou, about his orders.

Kudou tells Hakuri to calm down and explains that the Hishaku have invaded Kamunabi headquarters, meaning their aim is likely to grab the Sword Saint and his Shinuchi, which essentially spells the end for this country.

Kudou orders Hakuri to hide the Shinuchi with Storehouse.

Given how Hakuri overused his sorcery, he was on the verge of losing Storehouse but by transplanting part of the nerves that govern his other sorcery, ‘Isou’, the Kamunabi were able to stabilize him.

This does come at the cost of Isou and Storehouse’s functionality to be slightly damaged or weakened.

Kudou warns Hakuri that if he pushes too hard again like before, he will lose both Sorceries for good next time.

Nonetheless, Kudou apologizes for Hakuri having to use his abilities during the battle straight after the Rakuzaichi.

Hakuri says there is no need and asks where the Shinuchi is but Kudou assures him that they do not need to hurry.

Meanwhile in the First Level West Entrance, two Hishaku members walk in, surprised that nobody is around to ambush them.

They also wonder why they have some important items out in the open, with one member noting this could be a trap but they shall move regardless.

In an office area with computers, we see a middle-aged employee monologuing about how he has been managing the Kamunabi Headquarters West Entry for 18 years

We learn more about the Kamunabi’s past and indeed it was founded during the Seitei War 18 years ago.

A nationwide organization haphazardly formed during the war to combat Shokoku Island’s sorcery called the  “Anti-Sorcery Tactics Army”, meaning they were the first responders before Kunishige forged the Enchanted Blades.

The employee notes that when the Kamunabiwas formalized, they used the older ranking system, which gave way to the current one but the man is still sub-lieutenant, a title from the old version, which shows his combat ability.

We see a list of those ranks.

Although everyone in the building has combat ability, the enemy this time are Hishaku, all master sorcerers.

Three of the Hishaku came through the Western entrance, therefore the code “mouse” was given, meaning that the people here stand no chance against the intruder.

The protocol is to simply let the enemy pass to prevent unnecessary casualties.

One of them has the Hishaku emblem on their hand but the other two are identified as the “Dead Willow Brothers”, who were not from a special clan but have killed eleven Kamunabi officials, including former “officer” ranks.

They have no loyalty to the Hishaku but are instead mad dogs who just want to rampage.

One brother is a lanky man in a suit with dark lipstick, the other brother has a metal jaw.

The employee watches the camera feed and is surprised that not all of the Hishaku are fighter-types, which means these two were hired to make up for that difference.

How did Yura form the Hishaku exactly?

Anyway, the employee notes that the barrier in their plaids suppresses their presence as long as they do not make any noise or emit any killing intent, which is a practical countermeasure to ensure the survival of the Kamunabi’s people.

However, it was a bad coincidence that this man held overbearing hatred towards the Dead Willow Brothers because one of the 11 Kamunabi officers killed was his nephew.

The man calms down, reminded of his nephew’s desire to protect the country.

However, the Dead Willow Brothers notice the presence of 24 people in the area.

The man is worried about a fight but the first Dead Willow Brother says that there is no need as they are merely insects.

Kamunabi Headquarters First Level Center: The Execution Grounds of Villains.

After receiving a report, with only three Hishaku invaders (including the Dead Brothers) moving, Azami Soushirou heads out.

In the past, Azami was promoted to Colonel at 18 years old as part of the Anti-Sorcery Tactics Army,

The Dead Willow Brothers confront him, with the lanky one throwing his Kousa (Yellow Chain) to bind Azami, who is surprised by their speed.

Azami breaks free and pummels the first brother, much to the second’s anger.

The announcer declares that the Executioner (Azami) has gone feral.

Appearing in front of Azami is a man in samurai armor, the Hishaku member accompanying the Dead Willow Brothers.

Azami identifies this man as one of the three who assassinated Kunishige Rokuhira in his own home alongside the Pine Hishaku, and are the three strongest Hishaku members outside of their leader Yura.

Meanwhile, Hakuri and Kudou get ready to move

Editor’s note: “We have to hurry.”
