Tokio CHOOSES to Become CHOUJIN X! Choujin X Chapter 61.1 Spoilers!
Tokio’s decision will radically shift the story of Choujin X forever.

In the previous Choujin X chapter, Batista faces off against Holy Mother Zora but gets bisected by her effortlessly.
Choujin X Chapter 61.1 is titled, “Go to the Future”.
This chapter has 25 pages.
The color page shows Zora from the previous chapter with the title below.
The chapter begins over 70 years ago during the Great Choujin War to the founding of Yamato Mori, where a younger Zora explains why she called the organization as such, with Mori meaning Shield.
It seems within this foundation, we get the context for the introductory questions of Hoshi Sandek to Tokio, Ely and Azuma in Chapter 8: “My Benefit”, a set of questions to all recruits that becomes the foundational question of this entire saga:
- What do you consider to be “good”?
- Then what is “evil”?
- Who are your “allies”?
- Who are your “enemies”?
- The most important: What “benefit” do you hope to gain from your lives?
We return to the present as Zora looks upon the “shield” she has created, except they now stand against her instead.
While holding the massive Adamantine Harpe in her right hand, Zora notes that even she and her clairvoyance does not know what future is beyond this point.
Now the conclusions to all her prophecies will come before her eyes.
Sandek looks at the staked body of his brother Batista and expresses lament.
Surely, this is not over for the masked villain of Choujin X, after all his sacrifices to become a Nue Chimera and save his wife Hartley.
As Sandek prepares for battle, Tokio tells everyone to wait as he wishes to talk to Zora, which Sandek approves of, much to the others’ surprise.
Tokio says that before he can reach a decision, he would like to ask Zora some questions, since he is not sure what is the correct path to dealing with her.
These are the Yamato Mori questions.
- Zora’s concept of “good” is the protection of order, to keep chaos as bay.
- Zora’s concept of “evil” is destruction itself.
- Zora’s “allies” are those who create the future with her, those who share her ideals.
- Zora’s “enemies” are those who threaten order and destroy the future.
Based on these responses, Tokio observes that everyone else thinks that Zora is the one threatening order and that makes her “evil”, the “enemy”.
Tokio asks the last question and Zora thinks hard on her answer.
- Zora’s “benefit” is that there will be a future after she is gone.
Zora explains that her life is already dwindling and it is this hope in the future that is keeping her alive and balanced.
With Tokio’s questions done, Zora asks her own, on whether or not Tokio will take the Mark of the Beast and fight the calamity with her.
Zora tells Tokio that if he inherits the Mark, he too will have the ability to see the future and the powers for the upcoming fight, even saying that if he does so, he will understand why Zora ahs committed atrocities and that it is his duty to take her legacy.
Tokio sighs, saying that he wished he could end things with talking.
Tokio recalls Sato’s words, that everyone will listen if you have the power and also Sandek’s words, that with great power comes the potential for great chaos.
Tokio also mentions meeting Caribol 16 in Chapter 48: “Harvester” and he did not listen to Tokio.
Tokio initially resolved to fight Zora if she was not in the right state of mind and was just pure evil.
However, after this conversation, Tokio understands how Zora feels about her desire to stop the Calamity and so he realizes that the ones who need convincing are his side, Yamato Mori, not hers.
And so, Tokio decides to take the Mark
Will this be the salvation everyone was looking forward to…
…or will the empty Reaper of Choujin X decide to end everything effortlessly?
Choujin X Chapter 61-2 will be released on March 11, 2025.
