Chihiro’s Mahito? Kagurabachi Chapter 49 Spoilers!
Hiruhiko kinda reminds us of someone in another series that everyone also hated. Is he Kagurabachi;s Mahito?
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Uruha is secured but Hiruhiko is after him, having killed the Bandana Kamunabi and the other guards. Chihiro faces off against a Hishaku member.
Chapter 49 is titled, “Equilibrium”
The chapter has 18 pages.
The chapter begins with Hiruhiko, joined by two fellow sorcerers.
His Hishaku tattoo shows.
Chihiro wonders if there are other Hishaku nearby, then asks Hiruhiko directly about his intentions.
Hiruhiko gets straight to the point: kill Uruha and end the man’s Lifelong Contract.
However, Hiruhiko immediately realized that what Chihiro meant was the killing of the Bandana Kamunabi and the other guards.
Right off the bat, even in the last chapter ,we see Hiruhiko as quite a sadistic opponent, presenting the bodies of the Kamunabi to them as if it was an act of kindness but it was really done to torment his foes and at the same time as a flex to display his power to them.
Hiruhiko does point out that the Kamunabi guards were able to defeat the Datenseki Squad.
Realizing how strong Hiruhiko could be, Hakuri and Chihiro show concern but Uruha slices up some of the sorcerers, telling the two boys to focus on the main enemy in front of them.
Chihiro tells Hakuri to give the enemy no time to counterattack.
Hiruhiko uses his Sorcery “Chizuru” or “Blood Crane”, which levitates some origami that form into crane birds that fly through the beaten Kishaku sorcerer in front of Chihiro, becoming cranes made of blood that splatter in front of Chihiro.
Hiruhiko grabs the katana of the dead sorcerer and uses it to attack Chihiro but the sword breaks.
This does not deter Hiruhiko as he unleashes more paper cranes, aimed at Uruha but they only latch on him.
Chihiro tells Hakuri to do centipede, with the latter recalling Kyoura’s Centipede.
So Hakuri grabs Uruha by the hair while Chihiro unleashes Kuro to cut down the room full of sorcerers while Uruha dodges.
Chihiro checks up on Uruha, who signals with a peace sign to confirm his survival.
Uruha notes that Hiruhiko would be a problem for Chihiro as the Chizuru technique looks like it can counter an Enchanted Blade.
Uruha flashes back to the Bandana Kamunabi and Kunishige and so he tells Chihiro to leave it to him and Hakuri.
Chihiro stabs Hiruhiko with a random katana and leaps out of the train, leading down to the middle of the city.
Chihiro thinks of how splitting up is a bad idea but having Uruha around is great.
Chihiro recalls what Uruha said, that the Datenseki Sorcerers are nothing compared to either an Enchanted Blade user or someone with equal power.
With Hiruhiko’s presence, Chihiro realizes that the difference in power between the Kamunabi and the Hishaku is equal.
The only hope to break the tie is if Hakuri’s “Storehouse” will soon regain its capacity and have Hakuri get in touch with the wielders to acquire the blades.
Hakuri and Uruha head for the Temple of Senkutsu, one of the four Sanso locations and holding one more of the Lifelong contractees.
Which means that the Kamunabi can get two new Enchanted Blades on their side
Meanwhile, Hiruhiko is excited with the prospect of seeing Chihiro no longer hold back now that he does not have anyone to protect anymore.
Suddenly a daten shard drops to the ground and the dying sorcerers rise, filled with the Datenseki’s power, which Hiruhiko dubs the “Specially Selected Anti-Enten Unit!”
Recalling his past trauma and loss, Chihiro declares that this is the time to break the equilibrium.
Editor’s note: Thoughts of Uruha, carried in the blade as well.
