The Hell Arc Anime Coming Soon? What to Expect From The Final Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode!
While an overall faithful final episode, Bleach is also setting up the sequel, the Hell Arc, with its new scenes and new characters by Kubo himself.
In the previous Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War episode, through the combined efforts of all Three Worlds: Shunsui Kyouraku with Mimihagi, Grimmjow via Kisuke Urahara’s modifications and Uryu through the Still Silver Arrow, Ichigo Kurosaki was able to slay Yhwach permanently.
Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War comes to an end after exactly 4 years in animated format and all of Bleach’s original canon concludes after 22 years and 2 months.
Chapters Adapted

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 50 is titled, “Death and Strawberry”
The title is based on the very first chapter of Bleach, with Death being the Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki and Strawberry being a pun for Ichig
This episode adapts the last two chapters of the manga: Chapter 685: “The End of Perfection” and Chapter 686, which shares the same name as the episode and is itself taken from the very first chapter of Bleach, for a total of 40 pages.
This will be one of the most manga-faithful episodes, expanding on the existing material while paying tribute to the whole story of Bleach.
Synopsis

“Ten years have passed since the battle known as the Great Soul King War.
The Seireitei, which had been reduced to scorched earth during the deadly battle against Yhwach, had gradually recovered over time and regained its peace.”
Additional Scenes

New characters will appear and some interesting ways of spicing up the manga’s scenes.
For example, when Rangiku makes these expressions after Toshiro’s comment about the 10-year peace, the atmosphere will briefly shift for two seconds to resemble the scene of her chasing Ichimaru Gin when they were children.
︀︀Rukia and Ichigo standing outside Ichigos house, Rukia says: “I remember, this is where it all started” and then cuts back to the very first episode of Bleach where they both first met, this part is re-animated (also in cinemascope),
Ichigo defeats Fishbone D and then a montage of all iconic moments of Bleach up until the present plays, also the Original Number One is playing in the background
New Ending Sequence

The first part of the ending sequence shows a montage of every character in Bleach as Genga with a different version of Number One playing in the background
The 2nd part of the ending sequence shows a montage of different moments in Bleach TYBW as LO/Genga with the Cour 4 ED song playing in the background
Final Page

The final shot will be the footprint saying “The Stories of Brave”
The footprint is where where the man stomps on the word “Despair” in the world that was previously shown in the trailer, likely Yhwach’s return to the Primordial Chaos.
This was the final page of the manga as well and was something established in Episode 46: “The End”, showing Ichigo’s footprint emitting Primordial Chaos water, as well as the first teaser for Cour 4 released on Jump Festa 2026.
Thematically, this represents what Aizen will talk about at the end of Bleach, that it is the courage to move forward through the imperfect present (hence the title of Chapter 685: “The End of Perfection”)
New Characters, New Voices

Kazui Kurosaki: Anzu Tachibana
Ichika Abarai: Ayaka Ohashi
Nemuri Hachigo: Rie Kugiyama
Girl: Kanna Nakamura
As previously reported, the voices for the protagonists’ children, Kazui Kurosaki and Ichika Abarai, have been confirmed.
However, we have one more character to the roster, Nemu’s replacement, Nemuri Hachigo (Number Eight), to still be voiced by Rie Kugiyama, the original Nemu voice actress, who possesses quite the range, voicing the more cheerful Happy, meaning we could get a similar performance to that.
There are two new characters that have yet to appear in the manga but were confirmed to be designed by Kubo himself.
One was a girl, likely a Plus or spirit, with two flames next to her, hinting at perhaps a connection to the Hell Arc.
The other is Chad’s boxing coach.
Staff:

Storyboard and Episode Director: Hikaru Murata (PIERROT FILMS)
Chief Animation Director: Kiyoshi Komatsubara, Kumiko Takayanagi (PIERROT FILMS), Masashi Kudou
Animation Director: Kazumi Inadome
KA: Kazumi Inadome, Fumiyo Kimura, Masaki Tanigawa, Kazuhiro Oki, Kazumi Kasai, Aika Kawasaki, Shiori Sekiguchi, Reina Kawasaki, Yumeno Ootsuka, Yoshihito Narimatsu, Toshiharu Kudou, Yukino Kumeta, Haruko Ichihara, Izumi Kondou, Kazuko Matsumura, Riana Watanabe, Tadashi Fukuda
Kiyoshi Komatsubara, Yukio Hasegawa
Masashi Kudou
21 2nd KAs
This is the first time the character designer for both the original Bleach and Thousand Year Blood War adaptations, Masashi Kudou, will be present as Chief Animation Director since Episode 1 of the anime, so expect some fluid animation to be consistently present, even for a non-action episode like this one.

This will also be the very first time he has done any key animation for an episode of the entire series.
Some fans are expecting him to be responsible for animating Yhwach’s final speech to Ichigo.
This is because Kudo was responsible for animating Aizen’s Villainous Breakdown as he is sealed by Kisuke Urahara’s kido.
It is also perfect coincidence since Aizen is the one delivering the “Courage speech” to counter Yhwach’s fear after death, of a world still in fear.
However, the leaker d0nut responded to the question of the quality of Aizen’s speech with a “thumbs up”, which may mean Kudo might not be responsible for this scene, even with how animation and effects heavy it will look.
On a side note, he is also responsible for Rukia and Ichigo’s farewell in Episode 342: “Thank You”, meaning he is bound to be a key animator in some of the most crucial scenes, perhaps in Kazui’s introduction, Rukia’s extra scene in the anime or the Yhwach breakdown.
Poem

“Even if we are without form,
we do not stop moving forward.”
Rukia and Ichigo’s final poem.
The duo that started the entire story.
This is an “update” to the first poem of the series by Ichigo:
“We are afraid of that which we cannot see”
The very first poem was used in the anime (link), albeit unspoken,
With the context of Yhwach’s final moments, this is Bleach’s entire thesis summarized.
While Ichigo’s Volume 19 poem from Episode 45: “Defend You” was a victory cry within the confines of the current world, at the cost of Orihime’s life, this one is a lesson learned after a Thousand Year Blood War.
Tite Kubo’s Recent Comment
On October 25, 2026, in an interview alongside the anime team, speaking with Ichigo’s voice actor Masakazu Morita, Kubo confirmed that he did make two new characters and that he has yet to watch the final episode.
Kubo: I am looking forward to it as a viewer myself. Also about the new characters I mentioned earlier…I have also drawn two ojiisan so please look forward to finding out whether they used one or two of them.
Masakazu Morita: You’ve gone and dropped another bombshell here
Kubo: I don’t know if they’ll use both.
Masakazu Morita: Sensei have you watched the final episode?
Kubo: I haven’t. I will be watching the final version all together with you. ….Thank you for everything up until now.
