In celebration of the release of My Hero Academia’s final volume on December 4, 2024, Marvel Comics has also traded art with series author Kohei Horikoshi and have conducted an interview with the storyteller.

In the Marvel interview, author Kohei Horikoshi has set up plans to work on his next manga.

“I was thinking to committing myself to simply drawing my next project, and letting someone else write the story, but my editor advised me ‘It will be better if you do it all yourself.’ With that in mind, I’ve slowly started writing and drawing the thumbnails my next manga. However, there are still several events left surrounding MHA, so for a while I’ll still be committed to supporting and promoting it.”

Horikoshi already has made preparations for the new manga that he will submit to a magazine but he mentions how he is still out there to promote “My Hero Academia”

After the release of the World Popularity Poll on December 3, My Hero Academia has announced two events for 2025: the release of the My Hero Academia Fan Book containing fan questions and the results of the four previous Super Polls and the My Hero Academia Art Exhibit at the Creative Tokyo Museum in Kyobash, Tokyo, and run from June 21st to August 31st 2025.

There is also the final season’s release as well.

Whether this new manga will have any relation to My Hero Academia is up in the air but Horikoshi’s line about “MHA events” might give away another hint: that the world of My Hero Academia still has many stories to tell.

Would Deku’s father still be one of them?

Additionally, an art trade has also taken place, with two posters giving tributes to both My Hero Academia and the Spider-Man comics.

The first poster was made by Horikoshi himself for Marvel and shows Spider-Man in a webbed background joined by All Might and Deku

Shown here are Mt. Lady, Ochako Uraraka, Tsuya Asui, Setsuna Tokage, and Star and Stripes drawn in the Marvel comic style.

Marvel has had multiple collaborations and was even featured in a chapter of Marvel’s Deadpool Samurai manga, where All Might one-shot Thanos.

Horikoshi has stated that the Marvel poster boy and superhero icon Spider-Man has always been a core inspiration behind his writing of My Hero Academia.

“I’ve always wondered what it means to be a hero, especially when I was writing My Hero Academia. At some point, I finally came to the conclusion that what that means is being a strong part of a community, helping a friendly neighborhood, which is why I respect Spider-Man so much,” revealed the beloved storyteller.

My Hero Academia concludes its run with Volume 42 and the epilogue Chapter 431 detailing the reunion of Class 1-A as adult Pro-Heroes from the lens of Ochako Uraraka.

A final season is confirmed for release in 2025.
