Deku and Ochaco FINALLY TOGETHER! The My Hero Academia Anime Has Truly Ended!

More than an “improved ending” for My Hero Academia, the epilogue episode has officially brought everything full circle as Ochaco and Deku are together in animated form too

MY HERO ACADEMIA © 2014-2024 by Kohei Horikoshi/SHUEISHA Inc.

The Final Season did not quite end on December 13, 2025 with its 11th episode.

Instead, we have seen the adaptation for the epilogue, titled “More”

We already did a full review of the Epilogue.

While this episode did not adapt the Eri Ultra Age one shot chapter, it will instead be in an upcoming short anime announced after the episode’s airing.

The episode feels like an “updated” approach to My Hero Academia.

Here is the staff list.

New opening

While playing the Season 8 opening, “THE REVO” by Porno Graffitti, it is a different animation.

Deku running in the different hero costumes he had while the background shows big moments throughout the MHA anime, concluding with his newest armored suit.

New additions

Since the Final Season came after Vigilantes Season 1 aired in the same year and both adaptations came about when they were slotted to the new Bones Film division (alongside Gachiakuta, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, and others), we can see that the epilogue shares that feel, particularly more effort in animating even the mundane scenes, which most of the episode really was.

Such as the 3D background for Bakugo driving, with some nice shots in the rear view mirror.

Entire animation sequence for stopping the robbery getaway vehicle, which includes:

Sequence of the entire class suiting up and using their Quirks to catch up to the vehicle, some of them pulling each other along.

Animation of Iida, Bakugo, Deku, Shoto fighting them specifically.

There was very fluid animation with some unique attack flair such as Iida’s backflip and Shoto’s spin, both having a similar approach to Vigilantes animation.

The Rest of Class 1-A pose, and then help with cleanup.

Deku, Bakugo and Shoto animated advertisement in the background of Ochaco walking.

Toga as a ghost smiling and walking away after the hand hold, similar to Shigaraki’s final appearance at the end of Chapter 430 and the final episode.

New animations of the rest of 1-A after the end of 431.

Hagakure, Jiro and Momo walking home

Tokoyami flying away as Iida, Ojiro and Sato say bye

Sero walking and talking with Mineta and Shoji

Koda and Aoyama buying ice cream

Tsuyu taking the train home

Bakugo driving Kirishima, Mina and Kaminari with all of them spazzing out in the car.

Shinso getting on the bus as Shoto waves him bye

Notable Music Choices

Deku looking at Ochaco

“I’m sorry for everything I’ve done”

Stopping the getaway vehicle

“You Say Run”

A classic choice for a hype scene, especially for what is essentially a canon one-shot anime episode.

Bakugo saying goodbye to Deku and Ochaco walking

Edited version of “Be a Hero”

Deku and Ochaco’s mutual confession

“Giulio & Anna” from the recent movie, “You’re Next”

Being a rendition of Rival, Written and Read as Friend”, which played when the boy Kota called Deku “his hero” after the latter defeated Muscular, it does fit since Deku considers Ochako “his hero”, not to mention how the song was played when Anna insisted on living with Guilio at the end of the movie.

The mutual confirmation between Ochaco and Deku was done better in the anime, when Ochaco turns around, and Deku is running towards her, with him stumbling a bit.

The composition and transition for Toga pushing Ochaco from that dream world into Deku was excellently done, and with her as a ghost, it ends off the episode wonderfully, bringing the epilogue and final episode in a full circle moment rather than the epilogue being a form of “damage control”.

If anything, the anime reminds us of how Horikoshi’s story feels more complete thanks to the effort of Studio Bones.
