The official Dragon Ball Twitter account has revealed, on Mar 11, 2024, that the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima anime is set to air on one of Japan’s most popular entertainment channels, Fuji TV, in fall 2024.

Earlier in New York Comic Con, the series was originally announced to be a WEB series, that is, it would be exclusive to streaming platforms like Crunchyroll, etc.

According to recent developments (a little before the 2nd trailer dropped), it was decided to air on TV as well, not just on streaming platforms. That means, it’ll air weekly on Sundays, just like how Dragon Ball Super did back in the day.

While fans enjoyed weekly Dragon Ball content during Super’s air, they were criticizing the lack of blood Dragon Ball Z had. The reason why Daima was celebrated as a WEB anime is because fans hoped the creators would not censor it for TV audiences. But now that plans have changed, concerns about Daima having no blood via censorship is back. And only the officials can assure the fans that they will retain the same atmosphere as the Z anime.

Dragon Ball Daima is confirmed to release in Fall 2024 but no official date has been announced so far.

About Dragon Ball:

Dragon Ball is a manga series by Akira Toriyama. It first began its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1984.

The manga was later adapted into a multitude of animated series, movies, and games.

The franchise consists of five different anime series, about 21 animated movies, and around 10 games spanning various platforms, from Famicon to Playstation and Xbox.

Synopsis of the Dragon Ball anime:

Goku Son is a young boy who lives in the woods all alone—that is, until a girl named Bulma runs into him in her search for a set of magical objects called the “Dragon Balls.”

Since the artefacts are said to grant one wish to whoever collects all seven, Bulma hopes to gather them and wish for a perfect boyfriend.

Goku happens to be in possession of a dragon ball, but unfortunately for Bulma, he refuses to part ways with it, so she makes him a deal: he can tag along on her journey if he lets her borrow the dragon ball’s power.

With that, the two set off on the journey of a lifetime.
