Attack on Titan Movie A Colossal Hit in the Box Office
Attack on Titan continues to make history and has now set a record for the box office, at least among compilation films.
A compilation of two special episodes turns out to a major financial success.
As of November 13, 2024, “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” movie has grossed 235 million yen or more than 1.5 million US dollars in the first 3 days even with limited screenings to 150 theaters.

Because of its earnings, it is ranked in 1st at the box office for the week.
On its opening day, the movie made 65 million yen or 422,564 US Dollars.
This makes the highest grossing compilation movie since “Bocchi the Rock! Re:”, the first of two Bocchi the Rock! compilation films, which was released on June 7 and its opening weekend reaching up to 218 million yen.
The “Bocchi the Rock! Re:” compilation is also noted to be the first compilation film (with no original content and acting only as a recap of the series) to top the chart.
At one point, the “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” movie reached a 10/10 rating in IMDB, with the movie currently rated at 9.5/10 as of writing.

This rating is separate from the accumulative rating from the main series, which includes its recap episodes and OVA episodes.
“Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” is still in theaters for 3 weeks.
The compilation film by Studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man) is the “intended” movie format for the two special episodes that aired in March and November of 2023 and serve as the finale of the Attack on Titan anime.
The 145 minute film contains an additional 5 minutes of content, with a post-credits scene lasting less than 2 minutes featuring the Attack on School Caste side story, specifically the “End Roll” segment of the final volume of the manga.
It is set to be released to most of Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong in early 2025, according to Muse Asia and other sources.
