How Kashin Koji’s Ten Directions Predicts the Next Boruto Arc

In the latest chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, we received an updated vision from Kashin Koji’s Ten Directions, showing events within that chapter but also more to come.

To recap, Ten Directions is Kashin Koji’s Shinjutsu that allows him to see different paths into the future and we now have many different events to look forward to, possibly hinting at the next arc now that Ryu and Matsuri are seemingly dealt with.

As it turns out, there were at least 17 images contained in that single page, so we will go over them and explain how they determine the future of the series

1. Jura’s Lost Right Eye Healed?

Of the visions shown, Jura vs Boruto and Kawaki had the most amount of relevant images at 6 or possibly 7.

The shot of Jura covering his right eye was the main image shown in the update of the chapter, which came true thanks to Kawaki’s intervention, showing that Boruto’s presence and interference with his friends had the ability to drastically change future paths.

We do see an image of Boruto lying on the ground, which is also what happened during the chapter when Jura defeated him.

There was also the image of a jacket end with a black rod, which could be Kawaki, a small hint for anyone observant enough to notice.

This means Ikemoto was already hinting at Kawaki’s involvement a few pages before it happened through the update, although we would barely see it. Perhaps the anime will make it more obvious.

However, we get another image clumped among them showing Jura having two eyes again, indicating either Boruto and Kawaki’s defeat in the next chapter or a circumstance forcing his retreat.

In addition, we also see two images show Claw Marks with trees, which could be the Human God Tree lair or Jura’s counterattack, something like Deep Forest Emergence.

This could mean Jura will now be directly acting against the Leaf and anyone who gets in his way.

Alternatively, we might see Code back in action, considering his deal with Jura in Chapter 15: “A Vibrant Life”.

2. Inojin’s Return and Team 10 in the Land of Wind

We see Inojin performing a hand sign within the cave systems of the Land of Wind.

It seems that Sakura’s healing was effective to bring Inojin back to full recovery.

It is important to note that this might not be the same Orochimaru hideout Koji used as that is naturally hidden deeper in and Koji took extra precautions and used Genjutsu on the entrance and exit.

This could be the same location or a similar one as the place Matsuri and Ryu attacked the Sand Ninja.

Inojin is likely looking for Gaara or Shinki, who are in the cave system using his Sensory abilities.

The next image is of  Shikadai as you can tell by the Jacket pattern and Nara crest.

The closer the segments in the Ten Directions vision, the more connected they are, which means that Team 10 are in the Land of Wind.

Whether they came on Shikamaru’s orders or not will be interesting to find out.

3. Shinki and Gaara’s Return

Two other images seem vague but it is speculated that, put together, they show the hair of Shinki and Gaara, who are both sealed in different ways.

In Chapter 15, Shinki sealed Gaara away in his Magnet Particle Barrier Palm sphere to prevent the Human God Trees from killing him.

This could mean that we will see Shinki and Gaara freed or a much worse fate will befall them as Ten Directions is being updated.

4. Mamushi vs Daemon

We see two images in the same roll of film, Mamushi and what appear to be his clones and a bit of Daemon’s jacket.

Mamushi has stated that his target is Eida, so we will see Daemon back in action to defend his older sister.

We will also see Mamushi’s abilities, which could even be Bug’s own jutsu.

It seems this is either the Wood Clone Jutsu or a different type of clone technique altogether.

Mamushi might be more driven to go after Eida, which could even reveal more characterization about Bug we have never even known before as he felt like a one-note lackey to Code, whose only role is to complain and pushed around.

5. Himawari’s Appearance

We see a glimpse of Himawari and it seems her fate might be vague.

She is shown wearing slightly different clothes, indicating this is a different time.

We are unsure if she has escaped the Leaf Village or gained permission from Shikamaru in spite of her protection being top priority as both the former Seventh Hokage’s daughter and Jura’s main target.

However, her presence suggests that Jura is now directing his attention to fighting her.

The 9th Anniversary Q&A with Mikio Ikemoto suggests that we might see Himawari’s power grow faster than anticipated, maybe even combining the unique chakra of the Hyuga, who are descendants of Hamura Otsutsuki, with the Nine Tails, the strongest fragment of Kaguya Otsutsuki’s Ten-Tails.

6. A Tragic Father-Daughter Reunion Awakens Sarada’s Second Mangekyo Power

We see two images, one of Hidari reaching out and the other of Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan.

As established in Chapter 21: “Mangekyo Sharingan”, Sarada’s awakening was meant to happen regardless but since this is an updated version, it is possible that this is Sarada fighting Hidari, who is seeking Sarada’s Sharingan to fully control his Chidori.

Notice the focus on the left eye, indicating that we will see both eyes awaken their power, possibly indicating that Sarada will awaken her Susano’o in the battle or when stressed about her father’s fate.

Alternatively, this could be because Hidari’s left side is covered, meaning that he is after Sarada’s left eye.

Unlike the other Human God Trees, Hidari is more empty and unsure of himself and we will see that his method of consumption will not just be through absorbing his daughter but the traditional Uchiha way since Madara’s time, of claiming a family member’s eyes, as Itachi falsely threatened to do in his final battle with Sasuke back in the original Naruto series.

Another possibility is that this one shot could happen twice just like with Itachi: one where Hidari tries to steal Sarada’s eyes, except for real unlike Itachi, and then the forehead tap of love when Hidari expresses Sasuke’s love for his daughter.

Maybe Hidari will be the first Human God Tree to ask Sarada to end him so that his real self could be freed.

What Will be the Next Boruto Arc?

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will enter a new arc once the next chapter’s fight, Boruto and Kawaki vs. Jura, is settled one way or another.

If the brothers fail, the planet is doomed but if Jura retreats for the second time, the next attack will be even more lethal now that the Human God Trees were made vulnerable by love as shown with Matsuri or by new powers as shown with Ryu facing the Mangekyo Sharingan and Jura facing two Otsutsuki brothers.

Team 10 will be involved much sooner than the rest of the events, which will likely be one arc, especially as we are seeing the Human God Trees acting out on their own.

Perhaps Hidari and Mamushi will leave the lair to go after their targets.

Himawari’s involvement is a mystery but as Jura’s target, this could mean we will see three major fights in the coming arc.

The big question will be on whether or not the next chapter will see a win for Boruto and Kawaki or something else we have not considered.
