The spoilers for chapter 243 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga have shaken up the fandom in ways nobody expected!

As the hilariously weird fight between Kenjaku and Takaba finally came to an end.

However, the final twist from the chapter has left us all scratching our heads!

In this article, we’ll take a look at Kenjaku’s status, and Yuta’s importance in all of this. But first, let’s take a look at what unfolded!

Kenjaku vs Takaba: The Finale

Chapter 243 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga brings the fight between Kenjaku and Takaba to its final stage, where the two crack some funny jokes.

The two banter a lot as well, as if they’ve been best friends for ages.

Suddenly, the two get silent, knowing that their “fight” is finally coming to an end.

Takaba states that this was his dream stage and that he doesn’t want this to end, even crying.

Kenjaku consoles him too, and it ends.

We see Takaba lying on the floor, dressed in a white robe. Takaba thanks Kenjaku, and the latter simply smiles.

In a hilarious moment, Kenjaku says that Takaba should be proud that he’s hilarious, referencing the popular Sukuna-Jogo moment.

Next comes the most shocking part of the chapter, where Okkotsu Yuta arrives at the scene!

Kenjaku tries to use the anti-gravity cursed technique to stop Yuta, but Yuta is too fast.

We then see Kenjaku’s head get severed, he wonders how could he not notice Yuta, who has such a high amount of cursed energy.

On the brink of death, he realizes that this was Takaba’s doing. With his head on the ground, he asks Yuta if this was always their plan, and Yuta confirms.

They planned that Yuta would kill Kenjaku because Takaba wouldn’t be able to kill a human.

Kenjaku then says that this is a shame as he has nearly reached his goal.

Why Yuta Killing Kenjaku Makes Sense

While many people were caught off guard by Yuta’s attack, it seems to have garnered a positive reaction, for the most part.

However, people don’t know if Kenjaku is dead for sure or not. Thematically, it makes sense for a few reasons:

Yuta vowed to kill Kenjaku (Geto):

At the beginning of the culling games, Yuta promised that he would kill Geto, aka Kenjaku for his sensei, Gojo Satoru. After all, Yuta knew how painful it was for his sensei to kill his only best friend, that too due to such unfortunate circumstances.

Hence, when it was revealed that Kenjaku was possessing Geto, Yuta made it his life’s mission to get rid of Kenjaku. Now, he has achieved that, and honored his sensei!

However, an interesting thing to note here is that rather than targeting any other spot on his body, Yuta directly went for Kenjaku’s neck. Why? Well, this is a master move from Yuta, keeping in mind that Kenjaku is one of the rare sorcerers who know the Reverse Cursed Technique!

Back in the Hidden Inventory arc, Toji lost because he didn’t cut off Gojo’s head, but Yuta is no stranger to this ability. He is a skilled user of it, which is why he knows the intricacies and did not spare any time in cutting off Kenjaku’s head so that he couldn’t heal himself!

Yuta was Geto’s Executioner:

Gojo had himself reminded Kenjaku in chapter 90 that before he had killed Geto’s body, there was someone who had beaten it up real bad!

It was Yuta, but Kenjaku had straight up refused to acknowledge his strength, stating that he didn’t understand what everyone saw in the boy.

And now, that kid has slashed his throat!

Still, does all of this mean that Kenjaku is dead, once and for all? According to us, Geto is dead, finally, while Kenjaku will continue his shenanigans. Read this article to understand the full perspective!
