Deku is the NUMBER FOUR HERO! My Hero Academia Ultra Age FINAL FANBOOK Explained

Deku becoming a top Pro-Hero could hint towards Horikoshi potentially writing more stories surrounding the My Hero Academia verse.

“My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book” is the third and final databook of My Hero Academia, reaching 326 pages.

This was released on May 2, 2025 in Japan.

Ultra Age contains a ton of relevant information about the status quo at the end of the series and shows how much care Kohei Horikoshi puts into the worldbuilding and writing of the characters even a year after he concluded the series.

The most relevant points come from the new, 5-page one-shot that serves as a direct sequel to Chapter 431: “More”.

Eri One-Shot

This one-shot has 5 pages and is part of the Epilogue Arc.

Eri visits Aizawa and Present Mic in the faculty room at UA High and brings them some gifts to eat.

Aizawa is impressed that Eri has grown up.

Eight years after the Final War, Eri would be 15 years old, close to Deku’s age at the start of the story.

As it turns out, Eri has been living with Shino Sosaki (Mandalay) and Kota.

Eri also greets All Might, who we learn deeper into the fanbook is the new Vice-Principal of UA High.

Aizawa tells Eri that Deku is not around today as he is doing Hero Work.

This continues from Chapter 431: “More”, where Deku has decided to do Hero Work with the rest of Class 1-A, especially as they all heard an emergency call at the end of their party for Shoto becoming the Number 2 Hero.

As it turns out, Eri has made a sort of music career for herself

The TV in the faculty room flashes a news report, showing the updated Pro-Hero Rankings.

The newscaster praises Deku, who is given the Hero Name “One for All Hero – Deku” and he is the Number 4 Hero.

Katsuki Bakugo is the Number 5 Hero, restoring his old place.

It seems that he has been hitting it off with his own Hero Agency. Did Deku actually come back to help him?

We also see Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto in their Hero Costumes jumping across buildings while Deku and Bakugo banter.

The Class 1-A Big Three are back together as 3 of the Top 5 heroes.

Eri, Aizawa, Present Mic, and All Might watch on in admiration.

The last panel is Eri looking at Deku on the T.V. and saying that she has to do her best as well!

All For One’s True Name Revealed

We learned of some new names, particularly of the Second All for One User, Toshitsugu Kudou, and most especially, All for One himself.

Originally, he only revealed his surname when he adopted Tenko Shimura as Tomura Shigaraki in the latter’s flashback.

We also knew of his brother’s name, Yoichi Shigaraki, in Chapter 310: “Master and Pupil”.

Even when All for One was defeated, we still did not know his name.

Eight months after the end of the series, we learn that his first name is actually Zen, which has the kanji for “all”.

This does align with his identity as All for One and his compulsive desire to own everything.

Tenko Shimura’s Original Quirk

In Chapter 419: “Design”, we learned that All for One removed Tenko Shimura’s original Quirk and replaced it with Decay, which was actually half of Overhaul, the Quirk of Kai Chisaki.

As we saw in the Shie Hassakai Arc, Overhaul was able to both disassemble and reassemble objects that the user touched, making Overhaul one of the most powerful Villains in the series.

Kyudai Garaki duplicated the Overhaul quirk and reverse-engineered it by removing its secondary reassembling effect.

When the series ended, we still did not get an answer as to what Tomura’s quirk was but we learn in the fanbook that it is actually the Quirk that produces a repulsion ring under All for One’s feet.

This was how All for One was able to fly after taking a Rewind drug that restored his body to its prime at the cost of eventually vanishing.

Final Top Hero Billboard

In Chapter 431: “More”, we found out that most of Class 1-A are ranked in the Hero Billboard Charts.

The Top 5 from Chapter 431 is as follows:

  • No. 1: Mirio Togata (Comedian Hero: Lemillion)
  • No. 2: Shoto Todoroki (Air-Con Hero: Shoto)
  • No. 3: Yu Takeyama (Mountain Hero: Mt. Lady)
  • No. 4: Shinji Nishiya (Wood Hero: Kamui Woods)
  • No. 5: Tsunagu Hakamada (Fiber Hero: Best Jeanist)

However, as of the Ultra Age databook, the rankings have changed:

  • No. 1: Mirio Togata (Comedian Hero: Lemillion)
  • No. 2: Shoto Todoroki (Air-Con Hero: Shoto)
  • No. 3: Yu Takeyama (Mountain Hero: Mt. Lady)
  • No. 4: Izuku Midoriya (One For All Hero: Deku)
  • No. 5: Katsuki Bakugo (Explosive Hero: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight)

Both Deku and Bakugo were able to join the Top 5 and it seems that Kamui Woods has now dropped down the rankings.

This change could be attributed to Deku taking more action as of Chapter 431 but more importantly, this is an indicator of a massive change in the status quo as Deku’s Support Armor could enable him to replicate some of his old Ultimate Moves.

We may not see Armored Deku in any real action just yet but having replaced Kamui Woods, one of the established top heroes for nearly a decade, in the Top 5 displays how much more efficient Deku has become as a Pro-Hero.

There will be more information in the Q&A portion, containing a lot of fun lore about the characters.
