September 9 is Officially Attack on Titan Day
After 17 years of its whole existence, Attack on Titan has officially received its own official anniversary date.
On September 3, 2026, it was officially announced that September 9th has been logged in as “Attack on Titan Day” by the Japan Anniversary Association,
Founded on April 1, 1991 and based in Saku, Nagano Prefecture, the Association is a private organization that officially reviews and registers commemorative days and anniversaries in Japan, all to promote company marketing and popular culture as they are responsible for making official events such as “Goku Day” every May 9th for Dragon Ball fans in 2015, and “One Piece Day” every July 22nd in 2017
To celebrate the official establishment of “Attack on Titan Day,” a special key visual was unveiled on the official Attack on Titan website.
The trailer, using the track, “ət’aek till we are Ashes”, by Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano, shows all the Nine Titans in order of prominence:
Eren’s Attack Titan
Annie’s Female Titan
Reiner’s Armored Titan
Freckles Ymir’s, Marcel, Porco and Falco’s Jaw Titan
Pieck’s Cart Titan
Lara Tybur’s Warhammer Titan
Zeke’s Beast Titan
Bertholdt and Armin’s Colossal Titan
And finally, Ymir and Eren’s Founding Titan
On the day itself, 99 announcements have been made, alongside a stream at 21:30 JST / 5:30 a.m. PT, featuring three of the anime’s main voice cast members — Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackermann) and Hiro Shimono (Connie Springer).
