My Hero Academia Short Episode Set For August
The My Hero Academia special short episode, “I am a hero too” will be released on August but fans can see this a full month ahead on Anime Expo 2026.
On May 16, 2026, it was officially announced that the special short, “I am a hero too”, will be released on August 1 and 2 during the Screening in Character Matchup Screenings Rounds 2 and 3, which features the actors for Izuki Midoriya (Daiki Yamashita), Katsuki Bakugo (Nobuhiko Okamoto) and later, Tomura Shigaraki (Koki Ushiyama), while it will be released on online platforms on August 3.
This is an adaptation of the Eri short story from the My Hero Academia Ultra Age Final Fanbook.
Prior to streaming and screening in Japan, the short will premiere as part of the “My Hero Academia Special Event” at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, California this July 2-5.
This is considered the FINAL ending for the My Hero Academia story, as it updates on Deku’s status as the Number 4 Hero immediately after his return to Hero work thanks to Bakugo’s encouragement during the Epilogue
