A Second Goodwill Event Arc? Finding Yuji! Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 10 Spoilers!
While a second Goodwill event arc is coming, with potential duels and tension coming, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is building up Yuji’s HYPE return to the story and possibly even the promised final battle between Yuji and Mahito.
In the previous Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter, we continue the story of Dura, who was killed in a setup duel by Dabura, who did it against his own will and led the Rumelians to the mul ore Dura saved up. Maru is the one who proposes travelling to space for the first time in their history: to find a planet they could inhabit in peace.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 10 is titled, “Majority Decision”
This chapter has 19 pages.
The chapter begins with a meeting within Jujutsu Headquarters, reviewing footage of Maru’s battle with the old Curse User, Masayoshi, and Tsurugi while out of control in Chapter 6: “Berserk”
This is the very first time Gege Akutami has actually shown the faces of the Jujutsu Elders but obviously as this is 68 years into the future, Gakuganji would be dead and this new group would be different from the older one.
Right?
One of the older men asks Usami if he is letting this slide and that he is giving the aliens too much freedom to act.
One mentions that Envoy Marulu stepped in to take control of the situation after the Tsurugi siblings were rendered unable to fight.
However, a younger Sorcerer brings up how Maru attempted to harm Tsurugi when he intervened, which made Mino nervous.
Usami glares at Mino angrily since he ordered Mino to erase all footage of Maru and Tsurugi and Mino swore he deleted them properly.
Either Mino is clumsy or a traitor.
Alternatively, someone might have already recorded the events without Mino being aware, potentially an opponent of Usami.
Another Sorcerer, one with the fade haircut, remarks that the Simurians now fall under Article 7 of the Jujutsu Regulations, as “threats”.
Usami invokes the Hakari Provision.
Ohhhh Hakari has his own Provision in Jujutsu Regulations.
He really made a name for himself due to his unique Cursed Technique, the Domain Expansion Idle Death Gamble.
A woman explains that there have been talks of making fights between sorcerers a form of public spectacle and sanctioned gambling.
Thanks to the Culling Game 68 years ago, the Japanese Government publicly acknowledged the existence of Cursed Spirits, which broke Article 8, “Secrecy”.
This is a reminder of the 9 Jujutsu Regulations.
It is similar to Hunter x Hunter’s Hunter Association 10 Bylaws but with comparatively more details.
However, in the end, the gambling plan got scrapped, which surprised no one seeing that it would cause a lot of legal issues and encourage even more human trafficking.
In spite of this, during the previous revision of the Jujutsu Regulations, the Hakari Provision was added to allow duels between contracted Sorcerers.
Meaning that if any Jujutsu Sorcerers were hired to take down another or to participate in a duel, that was fine in the Regulations.
The Hakari Provision was only relevant for justifying having a Sorcerer for a bodyguard, which makes more sense because of Article 9, which states that Sorcerers cannot harm non-Sorcerers, so the Sorcerer can only take care of a bodyguard if they happen to be a Sorcerer.
Usami invokes the Hakari Provision because of the contract between the Tsurugi siblings and Maru and that a fight between sorcerers in a contract with Usami is legal.
It actually happened, as Usami made Maru sign the contract, which presumably includes the potential invocation of the Hakari Provision.
Another person argues that duels under the Provision can only be carried out by Sorcerers recognized by Jujutsu Headquarters.
This directly confirms that Sorcerers who are not affiliated or recognized by the legal authority of Sorcerers are Curse Users and not just criminals who cause harm to non-Sorcerer society.
In this case, Maru is identified as a civilian bodyguard.
Yet this implies that Maru had become a “latent sorcerer”.
Mino explains that a latent sorcerer is someone who uses jujutsu unconsciously, meaning their crimes are treated as acts under extenuating circumstances and in some cases, they are not criminally liable since they are not conscious and lack intent to commit the act.
The Sorcerer with the fade points out that it is a well-known fact that Simurians can manipulate Cursed Energy but Usami clarifies that not all can do so.
The fade guy asks why Usami is insistent on defending them while Usami asks the fade guy why he is so belligerent and insistent on opposing them.
Oohhh he reminds me of Ivar from Vinland Saga, who wants to be in a position of strength before any talk of peace is brought up.
Yet this guy is also quite the charmer, feeling like humans are the ones being looked down.
Akutami does an excellent job of showing that both sides are actually equal here.
While the Simurians do have a spaceship, better technology, and odd minerals, they both have Sorcerers and equally, they share struggles.
The Simurians who arrived are refugees from a world that refused their existence and here, Earth is an opportunity to coexist where it was impossible in their own homeworld.
This is a proper immigration story because we see why immigrations happen: the country they originate is incompatible with their needs, whether due to natural causes or unnatural circumstances, especially repressive regimes that limit access to basic needs, as was the case for the Irish who came to the United States especially during the outbreak of the famine or refugees from recent wars.
The fade guy mentions that they have been given a warning about the potential for war once.
Yuji, the Strongest of Today
Now he demands that they find their own deterrence and it involves finding the location of Yuji Itadori.
Now it is clear that Yuji has become the new Satoru Gojo, the successor to the “Strongest”.
Yuji is a blood descendant of the Strongest in History, Ryumen Sukuna and the student of the Strongest of the Modern Era, Satoru Gojo.
Yuji has inherited Sukuna’s Shrine Innate Technique, an unnamed Domain Expansion that is tied to his power over the soul, as well as having the essence of the Death Paintings to use Blood Manipulation, and has the record for the most amount of consecutive Black Flashes at 17 during the Shinjuku Showdown.
He has inherited the dream of Satoru Gojo to build the Strongest among fellow Sorcerers so they do not live and die alone and repeat the mistakes of the past, as Gojo and Geto experienced.
Usami counters the fade guy’s view, saying that being looked down equals the end may work for individuals and capitalistic companies in competition with each other but this does not apply to nations, so he tells the fade guy to leave the rest of them and the country out of it.
Usami walks out, telling Mino to apologize on his behalf.
Mino says that while Usami is not wrong, there is no harm in finding Yuji.
Usami says that no good can come from making enemies from within, indicating there will be trouble stirred by Jujutsu Headquarters.
This is setting up similar tensions that Kyoto Principal and sole-surviving Jujutsu Elder, Gakuganji stirred to hunt down Yuji Itadori for extermination during the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc.
Cross Changes His Mind
Meanwhile on the Simurian side…
Even among the Rumelians, there is tension over who should preside as the tribe’s chieftain since Dabura is an outsider, a former Deskunte warrior who decided to act as their protector for the sake of Dura’s will.
An elder, who was once one of the tribe’s rulers in the previous chapters, explains to Oski that this is how the Unified Council system works, something both Maru and Cross decided.
Furthermore, the elder justifies Dabura’s immediate appointment as chieftain, explaining that because Dabura is an outsider that he can look at things with a detached objective lens, not being a Rumelian with their biases.
Oski, one of the Rimulians who used to mock Dura in Chapter 8, says that he dislikes the two boys, especially Cross for looking down on him, which is what he showed upon first meeting him and he felt that it was Dabura’s murder of Dura that led to their exile from their homeworld.
Ah like the Israelites complaining to Moses about having no food in the desert.
The elder asks if Oski could win against Dabura or even against any of the twins and that a decision-maker like Dabura can only reject the consensus of a Council formed by deliberation twice.
Oski points out that Maru’s injury has already reached the assembly and will influence the Council’s decision in favor of an aggressive approach towards Earth.
Oski insists on destroying Japan, an island nation that still does not have a standing army after 141 years since the end of World War II, since it is a hard opportunity to pass up.
The elder, like Oski, favors this approach since Earth’s military hardware is more primitive compared to the Simurians and it is fortunate that the negotiating party
Just like the fade guy, Oski insists on avoiding coexistence so as to not be looked down by the other party.
Oski makes it clear that it is a non-negotiable that the Simurians take the autonomous zones in the capital region (Tokyo) and then the Rumelians will be the Deskunte, as if changing the tribal identity will reinforce their strength.
Cross wonders why Jabaloma is withholding his vote and Jabaloma says that is because Cross is doing the same.
Cross recalls his conversation with Yuka in Chapter 7 where Yuka senses that Cross is torn up about coexistence and that is why Cross disguised himself as Maru in the first place.
As higher-ranked members of the Unified Council, Cross and Jabaloma each have ten voting rights, which would give Coexistence an edge if the two of them vote.
However, Dabura could veto it for a second time, meaning he has vetoed the vote, likely to give more time to consider their options.
But that would mean this would be his last veto if he does and the next vote, there will be no turning back.
Quite a democratic system in the workd actually.
Cross asks Jabaloma if he even has a will of his own but the old man says that “entrusting to someone” is an act of will in itself, meaning, being of the older bygone generation, he entrusts this major decision to the new generation via Cross.
This is why Maru and Cross, as pioneers of space exploration for the Rumelian tribe, are leaders in the Unifying Council in spite of their age being equivalent to teenagers by the time they started out.
Cross sees the little boy, Tsurugi and Yuka as examples of building coexistence.
And Dura’s words of how towns and villages were based on the wills of those who came before them.
Cross recalls seeing his hometown, which resembles an ancient human one on a hilltop, get utterly destroyed.
Seeing the Mul rock his father held up until his death, Cross expresses much fury.
In the end, Cross and Jabaloma cast their votes for coexistence with Earth, securing majority approval.
Jabaloma says that they can begin by establishing dialogue and cultural exchange with Japan to establish mutual understanding.
The others are shocked since both Cross and Jabaloma were not on the coexistence side before but Cross explains they simply withheld their vote.
The others insist Maru should be here to vote and that it is not fair to proceed without him.
Dabura says that he sees no problem with the coexistence consensus, saying that conflict, or specifically invasion, can start at any time but once conflict begins, neither side can truly understand each other, so understanding must come before conflict.
On top of that, they left Simuria to find neighbors in the first place.
After the meeting, Jabaloma shows his respect for Cross but Cross says that he does not want it and that he is just tired now.
A Second Goodwill Event Arc
Back on Earth, with Maru joining Jabaloma and Cross, Yuka reflects on the Rimulian backstory she got from Cross and Usami notes that the reason for the tribe’s exile was not because Dura lost but because they were defeated by Dabura, someone that strong from the perspective of a veteran sorcerer like Modulo Usami.
Usami asks if the Kalyan has a lifespan since the Rumelians’ third eye release tears upon its death but Jabaloma remarks that the Kalyan is immortal and can only die when killed.
This longevity is why the Rumelians worship the Kalyan as a sacred animal and guardian deity.
Usami suggests a dinner party but Tsurugi thinks he and Yuka cannot cook anything decent, though Usami assures them that there will be guidance.
Yuka and Maru join hands for their “delivery kitchen”.
Yuka explains that her idea is a revival of an old cooking show while Maru was just following Yuka along.
Yuka checks for any issues, like Simurian allergies or Rumelian religious taboos, like ingredients that could resemble the Kalyan.
Maru says that they have nothing to worry about, with Cross saying that the Kalyan vary in size and form, that the Simurians do eat livestock and fish, which they have an equivalent of and an ocean in Simuria.
Maru remarks that he has not seen any sharks in Simuria, a callback to Chapter 3, where Maru sees a shark but it was Nagata’s disguise and Cursed Technique.
Yuka mentions there is no flour-based food in their research but Maru recalls takoyaki, the first meal he had on Earth with Yuka, so the group humorously decides to host a takopa or takoyaki party for short as part of the exchange, hoping to bridge their worlds through food.
The chapter ends on a light, comedic note with Cross nervously imagining how chaotic the event might become, envisioning Jabaloma, Dabura and Maru having a takoyaki party.
Editor’s note: “Next time, everyone enjoys the TakoPa!!”
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 11 will be released on November 17, 2025.
