SAKAMOTO DAYS © 2020 by Yuto Suzuki/SHUEISHA Inc.

In the previous Sakamoto Days chapter, Sakamoto fully defeats Torres, showing off his peak strength.

Days 242 is titled, “A Girl’s Documentary”

This chapter has 15 pages.

The chapter continues where we left off when Torres is down on one of the game machines and asks what Sakamoto’s goal is.

Sakamoto reveals his intent to take over the JAA and erase the existence of assassins.

Torres remarks that he is interesting, which leads to Sakamoto leaving.

However, Torres reminds Sakamoto about the bet, that Sakamoto will erase the JAA.

Sakamoto refuses, saying the removal of the JAA will clear Torres’ many gambling debts.

Suddenly, Sakamoto turns around to a screen.

Across Japan, Kanaguri has plugged in a livestream of his film in action.

A girl’s documentary of revenge.

To avenge the death of her beloved aunt, whom she saw as an older sister, and so she plunged herself into the world of assassins to kill the culprit herself.

As Kanaguri narrates all of this, we then see Akari confront Uzuki.

We spot Heisuke and Lu watching, with Lu having no idea who Akari is since she has not met Sakamoto’s JCC contacts.

From the city, Nagumo, who also shares a close kinship with Rion Akao, watches all of this take place.

Uzuki talks to Akira as if he were Rion herself while Akira immediately expresses her hatred and desire to kill Uzuki for killing her aunt.

Akira’s views have changed after learning that Uzuki did not intend to kill Rion but that he was manipulated by his evil older brother Sei Asaki.

But seeing Rion’s legacy trampled and his actions spiralling Japan towards greater violence, Akira declares her intent to stop Uzuki for the sake of doing the right thing, even if it does mean killing him.

Uzuki sees Rion in Akira, so he snaps, asking why “Rion” would say that.

Uzuki insists he is in the right, that he only wanted to create a world where only kind people could remain kind but Uzuki has proven Rion wrong because it is impossible.

Akira points out that the civilian armament licensing system, the so-called “Three Shot Revolution”, failed to prove anything.

Because even among those who died were kind people who only wanted peace.

Uzuki is simply cursing his own life in an ugly outburst of rage, which makes Uzuki a true assassin, the very thing he hated most.

As Uzuki is stunlocked, Kanaguri is moved to tears as he found his muse, his protagonist in Akira, for the ultimate film he is making.

Kanaguri is glad he chose to follow Akira and is dedicating to capturing everything until the end as the director, showing he is no longer with X’s Organization.

Uzuki reclaims himself, saying that he is only talking to Akira, not Rion but Akira states that Rion is no longer anywhere and for Uzuki to stop clinging to his delusions.

Now broken up, Uzuki switches to his Takamura personality to cut down Akira.

Except that the one being cut is actually Uzuki himself.

Akira has finally awakened her Akao abilities, to perfectly imitate the counterattack she envisioned, the ability of “Paths”.

The chapter ends with Kanaguri recalling the words of Etsuko Satoda, who he killed in Chapter 90 during the JCC Infiltration Arc.

The sharper a person’s senses are, the easier it is for them to fall for subtle feints.

Akira has fully awakened to her instincts as an Akao, which Kanaguri sees as an instinct to kill

Editor’s note: “To cut through his destiny once and for all!”

There will be a magazine break next week.
