Is Hunter x Hunter Coming Back this Year?

Having finished manuscripts up to Chapter 424, Togashi might be setting up Hunter x Hunter’s return this Fall 2025.

On August 19, 2025, it was announced on his official Twitter account that Hunter x Hunter author Yoshihiro Togashi is currently working on the backgrounds specifications for Chapter 413 of the manga.

This is Togashi’s first post of 2025, having last posted on December 21, 2024.

The manga stopped at Chapter 410: “Negotiation, Part 4“, the last chapter for the upcoming and unannounced Volume 39.

In another post on December 17, Togashi revealed that he has already worked on dialogue for the next 50 chapters (Chapter 411 to 461), indicating the remaining amount of chapters to cover for the arc.

He has also previously announced that he has finished manuscripts up to Chapter 424.

Considering that Togashi is currently starting work on Chapter 413, it is likely that 411 and 412 are either finished or close to completion.

The timing seems coincidental as Togashi previously announced the release of new chapters exactly one year ago on this day.

There are still two months left before the start of the Fall season for the publication cycle in Weekly Shonen Jump, which could indicate that Hunter x Hunter will make its timely return this year on October.

The previous batch in 2024 was released on October 7, 2024 with Chapter 401, alongside the release of Volume 38 (Chapters 391 to 400).
