After 20 Years, Vinland Saga Has Reached Its Conclusion
It looks like we now have confirmation of Vinland Saga’s final date.
On June 19, 2025, we received an official update from the Project Vinland translation team, confirming that Vinland Saga will indeed end not on June, as previously speculated, but on July 25, 2025 with Issue 9 of Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon Magazine.
This comes from the last page preview for this month’s Chapter 220.
This means that Vinland will end with Chapter 221.
We do not know the page lengths until the chapters are released but they will likely make up the final Volume 30.
As early as 2024, Makoto Yukimura has many made statements about how close the finale has been and has made his intention to write over 1,000 pages for the Vinland Expedition Arc.
Vinland Saga was written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura in April 13, 2005 for Kodansha, first in Weekly Shōnen Magazine before moving to Monthly Afternoon.
By August 2022, Vinland Saga had over 7 million copies in circulation.
Vinland Saga is a historical fiction story of Thorfinn Karlsefni, who develops from a ruthless Viking warrior to a pacifist explorer as he and his people make their way through the New World of Vinland.
