What is the Legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaph? Loki vs Ragnir? One Piece Chapter 1169 Early Spoilers!
Did Loki eat the Legendary Devil Fruit or was it actually already in the possession of his weapon Ragnir all along?
In the previous One Piece chapter, we learn of how Harald was promoted to Holy Knight and immediately regretted it, leading to the events of his death 14 years ago.
One Piece Chapter 1169 is titled, “I Must Die”
The color spread shows the Rocks Pirates dressing with black suits.
The Strong World ties are growing stronger here as if you recall, the Straw Hats wore black suits during the climax of the movie to save Nami from the main villain, Shiki, who happens to be a former Rocks Pirate member.
The chapter shows the continuation of Shanks’ visit to Gaban’s place in Chapter 1152: “A Horrible Day”.
Gaban reveals to Shanks that Garp revealed to him the existence of Roger’s son.
Does this mean that Garp had shared this information discreetly with Rayleigh as well without trying to arrest him on Sabaody Archipelago?
This does explain why he told the Marines during the arc to not do anything about him, both due to how it was unwise to provoke a sleeping beast and maybe out of respect for one of the two men who saved him and Roger during the God Valley Incident 38 years ago.
Shanks remarks that the boy feels like a younger brother, reaffirming that Shanks had always thought that Roger was his father.
You can also see why Shanks made a party out of his first meeting with Ace.
Not only was Shanks happy to see Ace just wanted to thank him but that he finally got a chance to meet someone he considered a younger brother.
We return to the scene where Loki and Jarul arrive at Aurust Castle in Chapter 1152, where they see Harald order his Giant soldiers to kill him, thus piercing him with their spears.
We cut back to Shanks, who explains the real purpose of his visit: to meet Harald and tell him not to accept the “Knight of God” position or the Depths Covenant.
Too late buddy.
It seems like Shanks had figured out that the price for going too deep into the heavenly realm was to be possessed by the devil himself.
As he was still tied up to a pillar by his own orders, Harald explains to Loki, Jarul, and the Giant soldiers that he worked with the World Government but they betrayed him, seizing control of his body.
Then he asks Loki to kill him and to tell Elbaph the truth of everything that happened.
Furthermore, Harald orders his son to eat the legendary Devil Fruit or else he will not be able to kill or defeat him.
If this fruit is indeed the Nika fruit, it would be thematic since that is the fruit of Joy Boy.
However, since said fruit has been lost to time and went under a different name, it would not be treated as a legendary Devil Fruit even by the reclusive Elbaph Giants.
We now witness Harald lose his sanity as he, like his friend Rocks before him, would become a Demon, attacking everyone and stabbing Jarul on the head with a sword, a sword that was firmly stuck on his head for 14 years.
Shanks and Gaban finally arrive at the Castle but remark that they can no longer stop Harald normally now that he has completely lost his mind.
Meanwhile, Loki heads for the Treasure Room to claim the Legendary Devil Fruit.
This is the same room that held Loki’s key and where Luffy first met Gaban in Chapter 1139: “Mountain Eater”.
But when Loki enters the treasure room, the Ragnir hammer attacks him.
This confirms that Ragnir is a weapon that “ate” a Devil Fruit.
Question is, did Ragnir eat the Legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaph somehow or was this placed there as a guardian?

One Piece Chapter 1170 will be released on January 5, 2026, making 1169 the last chapter of One Piece in 2025.
