Subaru Urita vs the Masumi Clan! Kagurabachi Chapter 127 Spoilers!
Can Subaru and his clones face off against the Masumi ninja and their extraordinary stealth?
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, we learn about Kunishige’s awful childhood and how he fell in love with Chiaki Soga.
Kagurabachi Chapter 127 is titled, “Smelting, Part 2”
Released on August 3, 2026, this chapter has 15 pages.
This is the first chapter of Kagurabachi to have less than 19 pages, at 15.
Four pages promoting Volume 12 were placed at the end of the chapter’s magazine release.
The chapter begins with a madman suddenly attacking the two kids but Shiba, who was stalking the two, came in and beat the man senseless.
The man wanted to steal Kunishige’s money, believing his father is rich.
He was somewhat right since Kunishige is living off a large inheritance.
Then he sees Chiaki bleed, cut by a sword made by his own father.
Roku Isayama was the blacksmith name Kunishige’s father used.
It was the one thing Kunishige liked about his otherwise abusive old man.
By living off that money and drawing the greed and ire of customers like the attacker, Kunishige felt responsible for wounding the girl he wanted to protect.
This is where the flashback ends and we return to the “Smelting” mini-arc.

38 hours have passed since bellowing started in Chapter 125.
And it took 38 hours to finish the first step now that the furnace has reached a temperature around 1,400 degrees Celsius.
This is the kudari phase, the final step of the tatara process.
They had been adding iron sand and increasing the bellows to grow the steel, and as more of the Datenseki was exposed to the fire, more reactions would occur for the next few hours.
Kunishige has been awake for 38 hours straight, with likely no food or water, sacrificing his health and rest for the sake of Chiaki.
He feels that his life has gained meaning when he sacrifices his life for Chiaki.
Suddenly, an explosion appears outside Urita’s forge, with the man remarking that Hasumi held the Masumi off as much as he could.
Joji worries about the process being interrupted so he offers to convince the Masumi to back off but Urita remarks that it is too late, that the Sorcery Bureau is final in its decision to avoid any disastrous outcome at all cost.
Urita sees two options: pray for Kunishige’s success or put out the fire.
Most sane people would choose the second option.
Outside in the rain, Shiba is covered in seals that reopen his wounds, revealing that sorcery kept them close and the Masumi have the means to dispel the healing.
Shiba finds a Masumi with a bowl cut behind him, with the ninja understanding Shiba’s intent of using an open field to prepare for the Masumi’s arrival but the Masumi ninja says that the rain hides their presence as well and vanishes before Shiba.
The Masumi says that he looked into Kunishige and that he is useless.
It is explained that the furnace’s pipes (called kiro) feed air from the bellows to the furnace to keep the fire steady; should they be severed, the tatara process would end.
Within the forge, two other Masumi members ready their swords on both sides to slash down.
While Kunishige locks in, two Uritas draw blades and force the Masumi to leap back.
Urita urges Kunishige to keep watching, as the fire has not gone out yet and will not be going out.
