THE FINAL WAR HAS BEGUN! IMU IS ANIME SATAN! One Piece Chapter 1179 Full Spoilers!

In the previous One Piece chapter, Loki and Luffy easily exorcise Imu from Gunko’s body but this is far from over, as the real Imu intends to depart and finish this business once and for all.

One Piece Chapter 1179 is titled, “Nerona Imu Descends”

This chapter has 16 pages.

York Gets Her Karma

The chapter starts where we left off, as Warcury and Ju Peter protest Imu leaving.

Garling enters the Room of Authority, speaking more forwardly than the rest to their master, saying that it is such a reckless thing for Imu to say.

Garling remarks that Shamrock’s return has improved the situation in Mary Geoise, likely quelling the flames and the attackers, who still remain unidentified.

However, the Revolutionary Army’s Starvation Tactic is still a problem, taking away supplies for the Celestial Dragons.

York calls Garling, asking for the food as she is starving.

Now it seems the uppermost class of the world is suffering from the starvation they impose upon the lower world.

She says this is not what they agreed on and that this is not how a Celestial Dragon lives.

Garling explains the food shortage to her and that producing the Mother Flame would resolve the current situation.

He reminds York that her main body, Vegapunk, was also one of the rebels who caused this situation and tells her to take responsibility for it.

The irony, of betraying your family to be a city mouse full of food and luxury, only to get none of it.

York arrived at the perfect time, at the downfall of empire itself.

Imu’s Fears

Garling remarks everything went wrong since the emergence of Nika on Wano.

The Five Elders still insist Imu should not leave and to let the Admirals go to Elbaph in his stead.

Nusjuro says that the Admirals already have their hands full maintaining the peace, dealing with the Revolutionary Army and Cross Guild.

Warcury suggests the Elders descending like on Egghead but Imu tells the Five Elders to cast aside their Arrogance, Sloth, Estrangement and Pride.

It seems Imu is listing down some of the Seven Deadly Sins, tying to his biblical themes.

In thinking how this is not all coicnidence, Imu remembers everything that happened so far.

From the God Valley Incident 38 years ago: facing Rocks D. Xebec, the first and only time the Room of Flowers has ever been invaded in Chapter 1155; facing Roger when turning Rocks into a demon.

We see the part where Roger was about to be executed 24 years ago, telling the world to look for the One Piece.

We also see the report by the Five Elders of Shirahoshi’s birth and thus the return of Poseidon in this era and notably, Imu learns that Shanks stole the Nika fruit.

We still do not know what Imu’s plan for the fruit was but it was clear only the Chosen Ones and Imu knew of its importance.

We hear of how the Five Elders report about Harald’s presence before them.

Then a memory around before 6 years ago, of reports from the Elders regarding Loki’s rampages and confirming that the captain is the son of Harald.

We then see a memory of Whitebeard’s death during the Paramount War and Imu wondering why Whitebeard protected him, revealing he was talking about Luffy and he asks about Luffy and the man who took Whitebeard’s fruit, Marshall D. Teach.

We see Imu shredding the images of Blackbeard and Luffy before the Reverie Arc.

Note that this was days before the awakening of Gear 5 as the Reverie was all ongoing at the time.

Imu feels tormented seeing Joy Boy and Davy Jones come back to life after 800 years.

He also shreds the photo of Shirahoshi, the incarnation of the Ancient Weapon Poseidon.

This ends with Imu desiring Vivi while looking at the portrait of her ancestor Nefertari D. Lili.

Imu feels as though fate is inevitable, having been set up since the beginning.

And they will never meet again, as it goes in the Harley.

Imu is COOKED

Imu prepares to leave the Holy Land, but three of the Five Elders—Warcury, Ju Peter, and Mars—strongly oppose it. 

Nusjuro and Garling, on the other hand, are resigned to the fact that Imu cannot be stopped.

The way the Five Elders are trying to stop Imu suggests that something negative will happen to him if he leaves the Holy Land—especially Pangea Castle as Ju Peter specifies.

Imu trusts the Five Elders with taking care of the Holy Land.

The Elders protest but Garling notes that no one has any authority to stop him.

Warcury warns Imu that if he leaves Pangea, something will happen but Nusjuro points out that there is no need to remind Imu of this.

Imu is fully prepared to pay any price just to descend.

And so Imu enters the Abyss and vanishes.

Essentially, Imu in his current state is NERFED.

The only way he can physically fight at this point is by sacrificing his own life, for one shot at destroying Nika and Nidhogg once and for all.

He is desperate.

He is frustrated.

This means Imu is DONE FOR.

Garling’s Ambitions

Although Nusjuro was also more accepting about Imu leaving due to reverence of their deity, Garling will always be suspicious.

Garling just recently climbed up the ladder due to Saturn’s failure and this vacancy only happened due to the presence of Nika.

If Imu is defeated first, this means Garling and Shamrock will be taking over the World Government.

After all, they are among the hunters of the One Piece, including Akainu in the Marines faction as well.

We may not know if killing Imu will kill all the Chosen Ones but perhaps the ambitious Garling and Shamrock could find a way.

Blackbeard’s Opening

This is the opening Blackbeard would easily exploit.

The Empty Throne is up for grabs.

The Revolutionary Army or even his own crew are causing a ruckus on the Holy Land.

With all eyes on the world’s chaos and Imu’s absence being guaranteed, the plan can be put into motion.

Perhaps like Kenjaku in Jujutsu Kaisen using Geto’s body as a minute-long distraction, Catalina Devon will use her Kitsune Fruit’s shapeshifting to transform into Saturn.

A Steel Heart? 

Gerd and Goldberg present the captured Sommers and his “steel heart” to Hajrudin and Zoro.

Gerd pulls Sommers apart and says he’s like a magnet and its scary. 

Sommers retorts that she’s the scary one.

This must be the source of immortality among the Chosen Ones and the Holy Knights, their hearts replaced with a magnetic one.

Meanwhile, the three sections of Killingham’s body was hung on a tree as Killingham swears revenge of Sanji, remembering Mr. Prince’s name.

But Sanji forgot Killinghams.

Ragnir Sealed the Galleila Ancient Giants

Meanwhile, Luffy, Loki and Ragnir arrive at the Walrus School, with Loki surprised to see the school being frozen thanks to Lilith’s Omni-Drain Converters taking away the thermal energy of the area.

The God Trio try to eat the lunch provisions from the school but they are all frozen and taste awful.

As they eat, Luffy asks if Gunko is dead but Loki says that she is not but that she will never leave because only Ragnir is capable of unsealing the ice.

This must be why Rocks needed the Nidhoggr Fruit, as it goes with Ragnir’s own Ratatoskr Fruit, which might have sealed the Ancient Giants of the Galleila to protect them.

Possibly for a promised day of salvation for Elbaph.

The power of Ratatoskr is the Underworld Ice.

Interesting how these Mythical Zoans have a different, possibly higher or even divine form of controlling the elements that Logia have.

Loki’s Nidhoggr Mythical Zoan might have surpassed Enel’s Goro Goro no Mi, one of the so-called Invincible Fruits, and Ragnir’s Ratatoskr Mythical Zoan might be stronger than Kuzan’s Hie Hie no Mi.

A Repeat of the Lulusia Incident?

Suddenly, we see a massive pillar of black smoke descending from the sky, just like when the Five Elders came down to Egghead.

An enormous pentagram magic circle is seen in the sky above Aurust Castle.

More smoke comes out, covering the whole island.

As this all happens, all the inanimate objects around them, even the trees and houses, begin to come alive and deliver haunting laughs.

This is similar to Big Mom’s Soru Soru no Mi that created Homies.

How would Goldberg’s Homie Shield and Zeus react to such a presence.

The real Nightmare begins as the Giants feel like they are still stuck in a dream.

The land of Elbaph is backwards for Fable and if so, they are all stuck inside someone’s story.

The story of Imu, the King of the World.

The Abyss being formed above could be the highest form of Abyss from the original user.

And it could also be the means by which Imu brought forth the Ancient Weapon Uranus upon Lulusia at the start of the previous Egghead Arc.

Imu appears at the same magic circle where Shamrock and Gunko arrived from. 

Imu’s silhouette is still the slender figure with a three-pointed crown on his head.

This is confirmation that Imu’s descent comes at another cost.

Imu is coughing up a lot of blood, with a pool of blood forming on the ground.

We can see Imu’s silhouette start to shift; a silhouette of black wings can be seen sprouting from his back.

The Throne Room of Aurust Castle is destroyed in a massive explosion.

All the Giants turn around and we get the final main shot of this final spread as Imu rises to the topmost tower of Aurust Castle.

And this is a Castle of Giants, so Imu is actually much bigger than the silhouetted forms makes one believe.

Killingham and Sommers are shocked to see Imu come personally but not totally shocked by his appearance.

St. Nerona Imu and Luffy As Shadow and Light

Imu’s title is the male Saint, confirming his gender.

If there is a dark Sun God, it is Imu himself.

That is because Imu quite resembles Sun Wukong, Luffy’s template.

Plus it is interesting how a being who does not laugh makes non-living objects laugh, albeit maliciously, with laughter being the sign of his hated enemy Nika.

A dark Nika did come to this world, one who makes things laugh out of evil intent and malice, rather than joy.

Just like the Demons of Domi Reversi.

Imu takes on a merger of Nika and a Judeo-Christian Angel, a fallen one, with wings of black smoke like Lucifer in the Dante’s Inferno video game.

With the eye clouds circling like an angel’s halo but also seeming like the sun.

The Pun is the Point

Translation notes:

Imu’s “ability” is “AKUMA NO MI” (Devil Fruit), written in Japanese as “アクマの実,” with the word “AKUMA” (devil) written in katakana (アクマ) rather than in the usual kanji (悪魔).

If you write the romaji differently, it becomes a pun: “akuma nomi” (アクマのみ), meaning “only devils” / “nothing but devils

Usually, when a term is written in katakana, it is used for emphasis or to give that term a special or unusual nuance.

So yes, we will lean to the idea that Imu has the original Devil Fruit, further fitting his ties as the Fallen.

Shamrock is an interesting case.

As of Volume 114, it is confirmed by Oda that the man from Chapter 907: “The Empty Throne” is not Shanks but his twin brother, Shamrock, hence why his left side, where Shanks’ scar was, is obscured.
