LOKI WAS REJECTED BY ROCKS D. XEBEC! ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1145 EARLY SPOILERS!!
Loki was almost a Rocks Pirate. His backstory almost parallels Luffy’s admiration for Shanks.
In the previous One Piece chapter, Franky found the remains of a 3,000 year old Iron Giant while Scopper Gaban returns to fight the God’s Knights.
One Piece Chapter 1145 has two covers.
A color spread and a normal cover.
The normal cover is Volume 30 of the “Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage” cover story where we see Ulti hug Page One after Yamato saved them.
The color spread is a drawing from one of the One Piece anime staff, where we see the Straw Hats watching the new One Piece: Egghead episodes to celebrate the return of the anime.
We see Colon’s friends, dubbed the Colon Pirates, join with Robin’s group to rescue the Giant children.
In the Underworld, Loki tells Luffy and Zoro about God’s Knights but he refuses to disclose Shanks’ whereabouts, believing that Luffy has yet to truly earn his freedom.
We see a brief flashback where it is revealed that a young Loki encountered Rocks D. Xebec in the past and even tried to join his crew.
However, Xebec, whose face is still obscured, flatly rejected Loki’s request, which led to Loki challenging Xebec to a fight that ended terribly for him.
Whitebeard could also be seen in the flashback.
Loki’s admiration for Xebec was just like Luffy’s admiration for Shanks and because he was unable to join the Rocks Pirates, Loki believed he was born in the wrong era.
If Loki tried to join before the God Valley Incident 38 years ago, this means he would around 20 years old.
A massive 10 year old child tried to join Rocks the same way a 7 year Luffy tried to join Shanks in Romance Dawn.
In a way, we see the parallels.
In the present, Luffy gives Loki some meat to help him recover but this does not help much.
Jinbe stops the fire caused by Loki in Chapter 1142.
The chapter ends with Gunko appearing on the Svar ship, facing off against the Colon Pirates.
