SHIKI IS ON ELBAPH? One Piece Chapter 1132 Spoilers
As the Straw Hats reunite, a mysterious silhouette lurks Elbaph. Could it be Shiki’s first canon appearance in the present story? Is he the “lurking legend” of One Piece?
One Piece returns after a three-week break.
In the previous One Piece chapter, Loki calls Shanks a coward to play with Luffy while we hear some bad news about Jaguar D. Saul.
Thanks to Pewpiece for the text spoilers.
One Piece Chapter 1,132 is titled, “Adventure in Elbaph”.
This chapter has 17 pages,
We continue the “Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage” with Volume 19, where Yamato reaches Udon castle after it has been rebuilt within the old prison mine where Luffy was imprisoned for most of Act 2 of the Wano Country Arc.
We are
The title follows a standard pattern that began with the Drum Island Arc with Chapter 133: “Adventure in a Nameless Country.”
Recently, in Chapter 1127, we got the title “Adventure in the Land of Mystery”, which would have made it a neat arc separation except it was a short-lived adventure inside a nerd’s diorama inside his basement.
In other words, we are now officially starting the Elbaph arc after three months of saying we have finally started.
Even though we already are in Elbaph since Chapter 1127, we have yet to truly have an adventure due to the aforementioned “Land of the Gods” mini-arc that ended in Chapter 1130: “The Accursed Prince”, which also happens to be when Loki is finally introduced and we learn the true name and form of Elbaph.
The Rainbow Bridge
The chapter begins where it ended off last time with the Great Eirik ship reaching the Elbaph port and a little boy comes out to greet the ship, the same boy who was in the bar with Shanks in chapter 1,076: “Old Friends”.
This boy is named Collon and he asks the Giant Warrior Pirates to stop by but Dorry and Brogy said that they intend to head to the Upper World.
I take it that this is the main level, where the villages of Elbaph are located, the middle of Treasure Tree Adam.
Collon goes to the bar to inform the bar lady that he intends to follow them up there since he wants to meet Luffy, whom Shanks told him about in a flashback.
The bar lady, probably the boy’s mother, gives Collon some food for him and for his dad, as well as for someone called Ripley.
The Great Eirik ship then approaches a massive rainbow connecting the sea to the 2nd level of the Warland.
The rainbow bridge resembles the Bifrost, the burning rainbow bridge of Norse Mythology that links the human world of Midgard to the realm of the gods, Asgard, in much the same way that the bridge links the sea to the upper world of Warland.
This rainbow road was built by the Giant Warrior Pirates using a material called “Painter”, which is a Sun Stone, meaning this was a rather recent invention and a manifestation that Elbaph was much more isolated a hundred years ago as they did welcome Mother Carmel and Big Mom 63 years ago.
The material, a Sun Stone, could be connected to Sea Prism Stone, a material made from the actual sea itself in a hardened form.
This could mean that the Giants have access to stones made from sunlight.
This lends credence to the connection between Treasure Tree Adam and Sunlight Tree Eve.
With how massive the two trees are, it is possible that Treasure Tree Adam itself is just as capable of absorbing sunlight to the point of distributing it in a material form but rather than cause the ocean floor to be full of light, the light through its roots form minerals called Sun Stone.
The Sun Stone could be used to create light bridges that can allow ships to move.
It is possible that the Sun Stone might have an effect on Devil Fruits or Haki if weaponized.
The rainbow road could also be connected somehow to the Milky Road of the Sky islands, lifting up ships by creating a different surface that works just like the sea.
We are hit with a BEAUTIFUL double page spread of the Great Eirik ship going up the Rainbow Road as Hajrudin’s smaller ship comes out to greet and join them.
This ship only has Hajrudin and Stansen onboard.
The Straw Hats were amazed by the experience of crossing the sea on a rainbow.
Brogy is delighted by the wind condition and notes that rainbow sailing is a thing.
It seems the Rainbow Road might not be the only place to have “rainbow sailing”.
Brogy looks forward to seeing Luffy and the other half of the Straw Hat crew as he thinks they will love the sight.
The Straw Hats Reconvene
We cut back to the bridge above the “Underworld”, where Gerd and Goldberg continue chasing after Road, whom they have lost.
Suddenly, they see Luffy jumping up from the “Underworld” and he lands on Gerd’s hand.
Gerd loves humans and sees Luffy as cute.
At least she seems to respect humans’ boundaries, unlike the perverted Road.
Gerd and Goldberg ask Luffy what he was doing in the “Underworld” but, recalling his talk with Loki to keep their encounter and deal a secret, Luffy makes a terrible lie.
Luffy sweats so much from the effort to break character and lie that Goldberg gets worried, thinking that Luffy must have been traumatized by the giant beasts there.
Last chapter, Luffy essentially became the second boss of the giant animals in the “Underworld”, so this guess is quite funny.
Nami’s group has already crossed a bridge but they enter a forest.
Road is getting close to the group but then suddenly, he is hit on the head by a giant tree that had already been cut down.
This turns out to be a trap by the Straw Hat crew to take out Road without attacking him directly.
Zoro must be the lumberjack of the crew.
This allows Gerd and Goldberg to catch up to Road and reunite the Straw Hats with Luffy.
Road hears Gerd’s voice and since he calls her “-taso” as a sign of affection, he would have thought his fellow crewmate was coming to help him
Instead, Gerd and Goldberg attack Road.
Gerd and Goldberg seem to be partners as they position their attack similarly Dorry and Brogy’ “Hakoku” except these are normal attacks.
Now everyone is back on Level 2 of Elbaph and see a massive village before them.
Tree of Three Worlds
As the post-Alabasta Straw Hats reach the village, Dorry and Brogy explain that Elbaph has three different levels:
Level 3 is the “Heaven World”
Level 2 is the “Sun World”
Level 1 is the “Underworld”
We have seen Level 1, where Loki was chained to Treasure Tree Adam.
As it turns out, the Straw Hats were placed in Level 2 by Road and the village and other castles were also there.
This is the widest of the three worlds due to how there seems to be no end in sight.
The village they are headed for is Dorry and Brogy’s, which seems to be built on tree branches in the air and there are nearby island clouds, as shown in this second beautiful double page spread.
This indicates that the “Sun World” is somewhat close to the White Sea and Sky Islands. Perhaps Skypiea might get involved in this arc after all.
There is a “Heaven World” anyway.
So One Piece’s version of Yggdrasil only has three worlds instead of nine.
The “Sun World” being second and considered the “main ground” or “surface” does highlight Sun God Nika not as a supreme god but as a folk hero, a mortal deified to the status of “Sun God” because he is from the “ground” itself.
Luffy is excited as he sees the Giants and the village, with Usopp crying for joy.
We see a flashback to Chapter 129: “Straight Ahead!!!” at the end of the Little Garden Arc where the Giants’ lore began.
We see Luffy and Usopp talking about Elbaph and the promise to go there.
We also see everyone’s reactions, with Chopper’s sparkly eyes, Robin, Nami, Bonney and Lilith smile with joy while Zoro, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe looking amazed at the sights before them.
Sanji meanwhile leans on Gerd’s chest. How did he get there?
The Warnings of a Familiar Explorer
Throughout the chapter, we see text boxes of narration that would go on until the end of the chapter.
“Great size…brings about sensation…”
“No words would do this view justice.”
“This is the “Kingdom of Warland” on Elbaph Island.”
“It is a Kingdom of Giants that is commonly referred to as collectively ‘Elbaph’”
At long last, the Great Eirik ship and Hajrudin’s ship arrive at the village where the Rainbow Road ends.
The Great Eirik and Hajrudin’s ship arrive together on the village, leading to both groups of Straw Hats finally reunited.
Hajrudin and Franky are both surprised to see Luffy here while Luffy is surprised that the rest just arrived.
Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper look amazed when they realize that the other Straw Hats have been sailing on a rainbow.
All three of them have the “Sugar face”, the one Sugar made when she saw Usopp’s scream after Sugar gave him the Tatababasco ball in Chapter 742: “I’ll Always Be By Your Side” from the Dressrosa Arc.
The text boxes reappear and we learn that they are from Louis Arnote, one of the many explorers in the “Brag Men” book that talked about Little Garden.
“Brag Men” was among the books in the Library of Ohara that Jaguar D. Saul saved. Perhaps we will get back to this book.
Nami should still have her copy of this book that was shown in Little Garden.
In SBS Volume 42, Oda states that the Straw Hats’ adventures are a looking glass into these so-called “lies”, allowing readers to decide for themselves whether the stories within Brag Men are true or not.
It appears we will see that for ourselves even more in this arc.
“From the grasses or trees, vines to flowers and the insects, fishes or birds. Including all the animals.”
“One can only gasp at the sheer size of everything.”
“Fellow explorers, the time you spent here will not be fruitless.”
These lines all suggest that there is something highly unusual about the size differences of Elbaph, almost like this entire land should not exist within the natural laws of the One Piece world.
This could be the same for Little Garden and given the Louis Arnote connection.
Treasure Tree Adam could be the culprit since Elbaph has a material called “Sun Stone”, which is a counterpart to Sea Prism Stone, the solid version of seawater.
If they have a mineral from sunlight, it is possible this is how the fauna and flora, as well as the Giants themselves, grew to this height.
Perhaps the secrets of Gigantification are found here, not in the Lineage Factor of the Giants themselves.
This could potentially hint to the idea that the Giants themselves were once human and this connection to the human race might be a recurring theme in the future of the Elbaph Arc.
Mysterious Silhouette
In the last panel of the chapter, we see a mysterious silhouette walking through the woods.
A giant grizzly bear takes notice of this person, almost like it could sense their Haki or presence being unusual even among the Giants.
The silhouette shown in the latest One Piece chapter is said to be wearing a kasa hat and has spiky hair.

These were traits seen in a character featured in the cover story of Chapter 631: “Gyoncorde Plaza” (From the Decks of the World Vol. 16 – “Twin Cape”), where Crocus was seen drinking with a
There was also the silhouette beckoning the Straw Hats to “come”, which means that it was not Road calling out for Muginn, his giant crow that picked up the Thousand Sunny, but this silhouette.
There is a distinct possibility that “Golden Lion” Shiki might be the person that is after the Straw Hats.
Although he was most active in the non-canon movie, Strong World, his backstory is canon to the world of One Piece, beginning with his actual introduction in Chapter 0: “Strong World”, as well as in the Impel Down Arc, Chapter 530: “From One Hell to Another”, as the only prisoner to escape Impel Down.
Shiki was one of Roger’s many rival and a member of the Rocks Pirates but he was defeated by Sengoku and Garp, which indicated how strong he was and how he would scale with the likes of Roger and Whitebeard.
Additionally, thanks to the last chapter, it is confirmed that the animals Shiki took were from Elbaph, given how unusually strong they were.
The fauna of Elbaph should be familiar, as almost all animals are creatures we have previously seen in Strong World! This means that Shiki must have taken most of his deadly army of animals from Elbaph, that’s how strong they are! #OnePiece pic.twitter.com/9IOI1a0hrw

Another common guess from the fandom is that this individual is Scopper Gaban, one of Roger’s top crewmates but the idea is not very well-founded and more of a popular notion of a character who has yet to fulfill any distinct role.
Colored versions of the cover also make the figure’s hair blonde to align with the Shiki theory.
Perhaps this is the “Lurking Legend” Oda was talking about in 2018 but by 2018, we already knew about Rocks and Imu, so we do not know if that quote has already been fulfilled.
If Shiki is the lurking legend, it is possible that we have arrived at the “greatest war” Oda promised that would make Marineford look insignificant in comparison.
Wano and Egghead Island offered a taste of that through the appearance of two Yonkos, the emergence of Gear 5 on Wano and the arrival of the Giants and Five Elders on Egghead.
Perhaps “Warland”, the kingdom of Giants, will be the site for the ultimate war before reaching the One Piece.
However, what we can get from this figure is that they might be a prominent enemy for the Elbaph Arc.
Louis Arnote concludes the narration with this last panel, saying:
“However…”
“If I am to record only one thing about the mysterious land of ‘Elbaph’, the place where everything is huge…”
“I wish for you to remember my words somewhere in the back of your mind.”
“Do not prolong your stay in this land for too long.”
There will be NO BREAK next week.
One Piece Chapter 1133 will be released on December 9, 2024.
