Hakuri’s Twisted Brother Dies Twice! Kagurabachi Special Chapter 3 Spoilers!

The previous Kagurabachi chapter concluded Part 1 of the whole series.

However before we return to the main story, there is one other story to be told.

The previous two Special Chapters were for Genichi Sojo’s Bathhouse routine.

From the Vs. Sojo Arc, we skip to the aftermath of the second arc, the Rakuzaichi Arc.

Kagurabachi Special Edition: The lost Memories of Sazanami Souya

This special chapter has 19 pages.

The chapter begins with Soya Sazanami, Hakuri’s older brother, emerging from the rubble but not even remembering who he is or how he ended up here and so wounded.

Soya explores the wrecked area and slowly recalls common sense, namely that he is a Sorcerer, a criminal of the underworld.

This shows that Sorcerers, having kept their abilities a secret from the public, have to live in the criminal underworld, recalls that he is in Tokyo in late October and that he was in the Rakuzaichi.

Seeing the dead bodies with suits while he is not in one, he realizes he is one of the organizers, part of the Sazanami Clan and tests it out by activating Isou with varied hand signs.

The narration points out that if he was not obsessed with Hakuri, his younger brother, he would have been as smart as his father Kyora since it took him only 30 seconds to recover his lost memories.

Now he recalls Hakuri’s voice from their battle and recalls his obsession but not his face.

Next, he heads to town and with the little money he has left to talk to a fortune teller about his memories and the one he loves.

The fortune teller is delighted by his honesty and so reveals her fortune.

She is horrified to learn that for Soya, beating up someone to a pulp is an act of love.

She was right on the money.

The narration mocks the “merchant” Soya Sazanami, who spent his cash-flow of gold to buy a stream of verbal abuse.

Soya calls fortunes a sham.

In a world of Sorcery, bro?

While kicking a can in frustration over what the fortune teller said, Soya recalls what he actually loves as he punches a wall to the point of completely breaking it with his fists.

Now he understands that he loves weakness itself, only to find a bird and collapse to his actual death in the middle of the street.

Hokazono seems to be giving Soya his rightful humiliation, killing him off with starvation and blood loss (and stupidity).
