Another Sojo Day! Kagurabachi Bonus Chapter 2 Spoilers!

In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Yura and Hokuto face off against Uruha and Natsuki, with Hokuto and Uruha losing an arm each.

In the previous Kagurabachi bonus chapter, we see what Sojo does in his off-day.

The same happens here.

Kagurabachi Bonus Chapter 2 is titled, “Sojo Genichi’s Bath Adventures: Vol. 2”

This chapter has 19 pages.

This will likely not be featured in a volume release just like the previous bonus chapter.

Sojo reflects on how he always bathes every time he is tired from work.

Sounds like this killer swordsman views even his enjoyed act of murder as work that he has to rest from. 

The chapter begins with Sojo looking at Cloud Gorger, which is presented to him by the Hishaku leader, Yura.

Sojo reflects on how his dream from yesterday, from the last bonus chapter, came true.

Yura explains that while he is giving him the Enchanted Blade, this is a last resort as the blade is needed for Sojo to speed up on his research on the creation of Datenseki weapons.

The Rakuzaichi auction in a month and a half after this will shift things drastically.

Yura notices that Sojo is not paying attention.

Sojo remarks that even 18 years after the war, not a single person has been able to touch the unique material known as Datenseki used to make the Enchanted Blades and that only Kunishige Rokuhira, the hero of Japan is the only one able to stabilize it. 

However, Sojo intends to surpass Kunishige and to do that, he will bond with his new friend.

Literally. 

The first half of the chapter is spent on Sojo treating the sword like a human companion, sitting on a chair and bench in the park and even lying next to him on the grass.

To complete his day, Sojo heads for a public bath to relax.

This time, he chooses Mita-yu, an 8 minute walk from Hatari Station from the Toden Arakawa Metro line. 

We meet its old lady receptionist, Michiko, aged 76, who hands Sojo a towel set.

However, she tells Sojo to leave the sword.

And reminding himself not to be a clingy boyfriend to his bladed friend, Sojo hands the Cloud Gorger over.

And Sojo recalls how he read a book on relationships, particularly one passage:

“Value your own time and focus on your story. Taking time and distancing from each other is one way to realize if the thing you value is truly a necessary presence for yourself, and if such a relationship should be carried on. By looking at things from an objective angle, amidst these thoughts >BONDS MAY DEEPEN< (the highlighted part)

And the more earnestly you treat them, the more they feel towards one another. After all —-”

As he was ruminating, Sojo is delighted to see that unlike the bath from yesterday, this one has fruit milk. 

For Sojo, strawberry or coffee milk is not the same or as good as fruit milk as it is “Rising-out-of-the-bath-milk!”

He moves onto the bath and this time, he is relieved there is no one else around and so he can enjoy his peace.

Just as he is meditating on his excitement to hang out with his Enchanted Blade more, suddenly, a naked boy opens the door and has an epic stare down with the random adult he sees in the bath he found.

Then the boy jumps in front of Sojo, dipping into his bath, which alarms the relaxing sociopath.

I feel the pain of anyone translating this chapter.

Of course, this upsets Sojo and he calls for the boy’s father, asking him why he is not correcting his son’s behavior.

Sojo preaches about how a bath is a place to rest your mind and body and that if the boy cannot behave like a “proper human”, he should get out.

I appreciate Kagurabachi for showing us that many criminals are actually regular and well-adjusted people outside of their crimes.

Even Jujutsu Kaisen did this with the Disaster Curses.

After 20 minutes, the father and son leave and things are quiet again.

But still, the kid interrupted his precious bath time.

Then Sojo worries about the fruit milk and rushes over and yep, he finds the kid about to reach for the fruit milk on the box, which happens to be the last one.

Drying himself quickly and putting on his shirt, Sojo intimidates the kid, who just stares in silence.

Sojo is dumbfounded that because the boy is innocent and does not follow rules that societal pressure is nothing to him.

Sojo decides to break their line and reach for the milk himself but the father calls out his son, Yuki, who decides to take the strawberry milk.

Sojo smiles at first until the kid mistakenly takes the fruit milk instead and drinks it all up in front of him.

This child is evil lol.

Sojo hurries to the counter to get back the Cloud Gorger, feeling alone without it.

The chapter ends with Sojo dressing up and leaving the public bath.
