THE NEW SUKUNA-LEVEL ALIEN THREAT! Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 2 Spoilers!
The aliens have made their intentions to study the Earth known. Can the Sorcerers prepare themselves for the worst-case scenario of an alien invasion?

In the first Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter, we learn that an alien race called Simurian aliens are coming to Earth with 50,000 of their refugees and have the same powers as Jujutsu sorcerers, who are currently fighting a human trafficking menace
The sequel is led by Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin’s grandchildren, Yuka and her older brother Tsurugi, alongside a Simurian named Maru.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 2 is here.
This chapter has 25 pages, including the color page featuring the three protagonists, with Maru in the middle dominating the page.
Usami is the New Satoru Gojo?
The chapter begins in a flashback hours before the start of the first chapter,
The third person is Yuka and Tsurugi’s team is actually Usami himself, the Grade 1 Sorcerer missing from the main story.
In the Kyoto Future Science Museum, Usami talks to a government official, his subordinate Mino, who is worried about the aliens having some disease or unknown effects and it does not help that the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s quarantine measures and risk reinforcement are on the back burner.
Usami counters this mindset, saying that when dealing with someone whose religion, language, history, and culture are all unknown, by trying to treat them like a pathogen, you will receive a declaration of war, which shows Usami’s insight into international politics.
Treating unknowns as enemies first only makes things worse.
Either way, Mino lets Usami have his way.
We meet the two Simurians at the start of the story, the dispatch agent Cross, Maru’s younger twin brother whose third eye is exposed, and the Simuria Diplomacy specialist Jaba Roma, who somewhat resembles Tengen but with three eyes and giant earlobes representing his age and wisdom.
As Roma shakes hands with Usami, we learn that Usami is actually the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, which explains why he is making first contact with the Simurians.
Mino is impressed they could even speak Japanese and directly spoke to them in Japanese instead of English like they did in America.
However, Usami thinks that the delegates are just here to pester them because ever since the Kyoto paranormal security treaty Japan has been uncooperative on every issue,
Cross requests that their leader present here and the Sorcerers see the horned being in the shadows giving off an intimidating aura.
It seems this meeting was intended to intimidate the human Sorcerers, reminding them of the destructive costs the Simurian invasion might have.
They confirm that this is the Sukuna-level threat they were warned about.
After the conference, the pair have coffee and Usami suggests that the Simurian agents do not reveal they are aliens to the Sorcerers.
Usami intends to assign this mission with the Simurians to the Okkotsu siblings.
Mino worries that the siblings might be too young for this assignment, with Yuka being 16 and Tsurugi being 17.
Usami also clarifies that the Simuria aliens are not invaders but refugees, which Mino doubts.
This tense uncertainty is quite relevant to today’s real-life politics as well, which makes me wonder if Akutami is making a commentary on Japan right now.
He explains that ever since the Kyoto paranormal security treaty 62 years ago, Japan has been isolated and riding the waves of extreme nationalism, which makes sense due to Japan being an island nation with exclusionary sentiments for centuries.
So they intend to limit the spread of any information to prevent the outbreak of war.
It seems Gege Akutami is commenting on the recent resurgence of right-wing sentiments against immigration.
There was a recent speech by a Japanese school girl that caught the internet’s attention as she asked for her country back during an anti-immigration rally.
Due to the reasonable tension of alien invaders, Akutami might be first attempting to bring both sides a space to clear their stances.
Usami seems to be following the path of Satoru Gojo, as he says that what will melt the hearts of the Simuria aliens is not formal diplomacy but the spirit of the next generation, who will decide the future of Japan and the world.
This means that the world’s fate is left to the hands of two siblings showing there is hope for both humans or Jujutsu Sorcerers and Simurians who use Jujutsu to live in harmony.
Harmony is Maru’s Cursed Technique, so he is the species’ bridge to that existential point.
Interrogation
Now we cut back to the present, where Yuka and Tsurugi reflect on the revelation that their companion Maru is an alien.
Tsurugi explains the situation: that under the security treaty, Japan is given sole responsibility to engage in diplomacy with the aliens.
The Jujutsu Inspector General treats the alien arrival as a Ryomen Sukuna-level threat.
Yuka remembers how her grandfather Yuta got his scar from fighting Sukuna 68 years ago.
Although the Curse User is a scumbag, Tsurugi trusts his judgment regarding the human trafficking situation as he decided to stop doing this evil business worth hundreds of millions because of a serious threat like this.
Yuka wonders what they should do next but Tsurugi warns that it is a bad idea to reveal this information to the lower level since Usami introduced Maru as a member country of the security treaty.
Yuka suggests asking Maru instead, which Tsurugi is against because he does not trust Maru.
Minutes ago, the siblings interrogated the Curse User and asked Mino to leave since there is the possibility he might have explosives or an explosive Cursed Object on him.
The Curse User remarked he is smarter than the two teens and thinks Tsurugi is the bookish type but Yuka points out that is indeed Tsurugi.
Tsurugi asks the Curse User where he learned about the aliens.
The Curse User tells the kids that they should assume that any information managed digitally will leak (just like this and any other manga), especially when government offices in this future timeline are placed under AI regulations and yet are barely keeping things together, making him think that officers should go back to pen and paper and not rely on AI.
The Curse User then reveals to the siblings the alien race’s name but Yuka doubts about assuming aliens as a given.
The Curse User points out that it is strange for someone who works on the supernatural to doubt the supernatural.
He also brings up the fact that a spaceship carrying 50,000 Simurians is currently hovering above Japan, a number big enough to fill a baseball stadium.
Tsurugi theorizes that if all 50,000 of them use Jujutsu, they could maintain the spaceship but even that has limits.
The Curse User then ends his answer, saying that tomorrow, 8 pm, Kurumayama Plateau at Nagano prefecture, if a barrier technique is making the spaceship invisible, it might loosen enough during the resupply for a sorcerer to see it.
After they leave, Yuka asks if the man still had explosives, to which Tsurugi confirms that he does not but that he still annoys him.
Why Tsurugi Refuses To Give His Sister Her Ring
Kurumayama Plateau, Nagano Prefecture
The siblings camp out for the night, with Tsurugi intending to go up to the top of the mountain to see the spaceship.
As Yuta’s ring dangles on Tsurugi’s neck, Yuka points it out but Tsurugi once again refuses to give it back, saying that their grandmother Maki was treated poorly by the Three Great Sorcerer Clans but that she did not give up and silenced them with her skill.
Yuka correctly points out that she did far more than silence the Zenin and instead utterly crushed them.
Tsurugi says that this is how he will be.
Wait, so is Tsurugi going to massacre the Gojo Clan?
Jokes aside, we now see Tsurugi’s conviction was not out of pettiness but to prove Maki’s worth, the original form of Maki’s dream as a teen.
Yuka reflects on this, realizing that the two were each chasing after their own truths.
Both of them knew that Tsurugi always wanted to give the ring back to Yuka but that he seeks to be the strongest.
That tug of war between the siblings is how both are seeking strength.
They finally see the alien spaceship in the form of a large white pillar and feel overwhelmed by the sight and sensation of Cursed Energy within, declaring that now that their grandparents are not here, they cannot stay like this.
Tsurugi wants to be like Maki Zenin while Yuka wants to be like Yuta Okkotsu.
To be clear, when the story says the aliens are a Special-Grade threat on the level of Ryomen Sukuna, it does not mean the leader and/or all 50,000 aliens is Sukuna-level but that they are anomalies capable of overthrowing nations, essentially being beyond the abilities of Grade 1 Sorcerers like Usami.
Swapped Places
Meanwhile, Maru greets his younger twin brother Cross, the “Maru” with the exposed eye, who orders Maru to continue acting alongside the Jujutsu Sorcerers of Earth.
Maru thinks it is not necessary to spy on the people of Earth, saying that the Simurians already understood that the two races are alike and that there are both good and bad people among them.
However, Cross gives the options: conflict or coexistence.
Like Usami, Maru refuses to let conflict be an option, so Cross tells Maru that as a warrior, he should stay and keep watch on the Earthlings.
Maru asks why Cross is not returning to the ship yet, to which Cross says that he has work here to do.
Maru offers to have breakfast with his brother, enjoying the food in Japan but Cross says he has work to do.
Meanwhile, Tsurugi uses a watch to pay for the train and it seems that he forgot to bring the Jujutsu Tech pass and needs to redo the linking.
On the rooftop, Tsurugi meets up with “Maru”, asking him not to say here or the police will be called as people below will think he is about to jump off the building roof.
However, this is not Maru but his twin, Cross, and sounds annoyed, much to Tsurugi’s surprise.
Author’s comment: Before serialization began, I was making drafts and getting all fired up, like “I’ll finish all the chapters!!”… but i could only do 7 chapters”
