Guts is Sealed Away! Berserk Chapter 382 Spoilers!
Will Guts find enlightenment in prison or become even worse like Griffith did before him?
In the previous Berserk chapter, Guts is banished far from the Kushan capital after his Brand of Sacrifice was exposed.
Berserk Chapter 382 is titled, “Burial Chamber”
This chapter has 21 pages.
Isidro, Puck and the ever-silent Azan follow the procession of Brahmin leading Guts away from the city.
They are not the only stalkers as Silat and his Bakiraka are there and the men warn Silat that beyond this point is holy ground, such that even fewer Brahmin are permitted.
Isidro’s group spots Silat approaching Daiba, who is surprised since this is an area of complete darkness.
Guts is led to a forgotten tomb called a stupa.
In real life Buddhism, stupas are places of pilgrimages as tombs and places that hold relics.
If this is a forgotten tomb built over a large tree, this indicates that the Kushan religion might have been a successor to an old form, like how modern forms of Hinduism succeeded the Vedic civilizations,
With a hand sign, Daiba makes the entrance accessible and able to open up.
The Bakiraka push the door open and Guts is led in, with the guards locking his neck with their polearms.
Silat looks on with disdain, telling Guts to stay sealed in the tomb.
Meanwhile, Guts looks back at Puck and Isidro before he is sealed away, ending the chapter.
After losing Casca, Guts is no longer an active character, which has displeased some fans.
But what if the three years of buildup will enable Guts to emerge as a much wiser, calmer man, able to defeat the Beast of Darkness within himself.
In contrast to Griffith, who became more desperate for power after losing his body.
While prison destroyed Griffith’s body, for Guts, whose spirit is already broken, it might heal him.
Or make him a much worse apocalyptic monster with a maddening dark side isolated from all life.
But given how hopeful Miura was when he wrote the series, it is likely that Guts will emerge for the final battle with Griffith not as an angered avenger but as a mortal enlightened and more able to respond to causality.
Berserk Volume 43 will come out on August 29, 2025.
