Four Knights of the Apocalypse © 2021 by Nakaba Suzuki/Kodansha

In the previous Four Knights of the Apocalypse chapter, Lancelot encounters the Lady of the Lake and we learn how Salisbury Lake got its infinite magic power.

Four Knights of the Apocalyspe Chapter 211 is titled, “Lancelot, Knight of the Lake.”

This chapter has 20 pages.

The cover page shows Lancelot using Shining Road against the Lady of the Lake, who is impressed by how special his power is, as shown with the large hole left behind.

Lance has reached this point in just over a hundred days in the Lake dimension and that in a few years, he will complete Shining Road, strong enough to surpass the Seven Deadly Sins’ attack on the Demon King, and this attack was already empowered by the magic of Salisbury Lake.

However, Lancelot collapses after using his Magic, meaning he has not grasped it yet.

The Lady approaches the boy, exclaiming that she is in love with him, a human, and is willing to become one with Lancelot, who refuses and calls for his master instead.

The Lady makes Jericho surface so they can talk one more time.

Jericho says that Lance should not worry about her but the sight of Jericho motivates Lancelot as he declares that he will protect her at all cost.

The Lady sees Lancelot willingly drown himself to reach Jericho.

Yet he was not here to die but to live, so he did the impossible:

And drank up the whole lake, having a great thrist that surpasses all the Lady’s wildest imaginations.

A thirst for pure power, the power to protect his master, out of love for his mother and respect for his father, and most of all, inheriting Ban’s heroic potential.

Like how Ban drank what little was left of the Fountain of Youth, now Lancelot drinks an entire lake, saving Jericho and stopping the Lady of the Lake.

Lancelot wakes up to seeing an empty lake and an open sky, revealing that defeating the Lady is the key to getting out of the dimension.

As it turns out, the Lady’s defeat is her victory as the lake where she was born was her prison, a child unable to live outside her womb.

Sensing the small blob, Lancelot uses Shining Road to destroy her.

Jericho remarks how far Lancelot went but then Lancelot turns around with a smile and says they should go back home to their forest, making Jericho fluster.

So it begins, two hags obsessing over a minor.

We return to the present where Ban being surprised that Lancelot was stuck in the Lake for 100 days when in Britannia, it felt like 3 years.

Does this confirm that Chaos and Purgatory have a connection?

After all, the Knights of Chaos use Purgatory Beasts and Purgatory-related magic.

The Lake is a dimension where time flows differently but it is in the opposite vein as Purgatory.

If you recall, a minute in the real world corresponds to a year in Purgatory.

This is the opposite, one year in the real world corresponds to only 30 days in the Lake.

Lancelot also apologizes for “causing” Jericho to disppear but Ban responds, saying that it is neither of their fault because things happen with men and women.

This does sound like a rather controversial answer considering that Lancelot was a minor at the time but perhaps this is Ban’s way to say that Jericho is not completely gone and this is all just a phase they can move on from when it is all over.

Tioreh and Elaine come up to Ban but find that Lancelot is gone while Ban tells Lancelot, who is invisible thanks to Ban’s lessons on Zero Sign, to go on protecting what he has to.

Hearing Lance’s voice, Elaine goes to Ban, punching him on the back as she is upset that Lance has not said a word to her.

Ban says that Lance is just bashful but promises to come back home soon and is proud that he has mastered his move, Zero Sign.

The chapter ends with the Lady actually talking inside Lancelot’s body, hoping for a heart-pounding adventure but Lancelot dismisses her, telling her to pound someone else’s heart.

Lance runs off and turns into Sin the Fox and wishes the Lady inside him just shuts up.

It seems that the Lady’s defeat really was a total victory for her, now becoming one with her human target.

Lancelot is in quite a weird predicament, having a hag go after him, a woman who is younger but close in age who is in love with her and a centuries-old lake spirit residing in his body.
