Super Bowl 2024 Uses Jujutsu Kaisen To Promote Their Most Awaited Showdown
In the promo, we see Sukuna as Patrick Mahomes, from Kansas City Chiefs, while Brock Purdy from San Francisco 49ers steps in as Jogo.
There’s no question that the Super Bowl is one of the most anticipated sporting events of every year that passes by. And they make full use of their brain power and creativity skills to promote the matchup that will determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL) for the 2023 season.
The showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Feb 12, 2024, was nothing short of spectacular, wherein the defending champions managed to reclaim their position 25–22 with the match going into overtime.
But what’s hilarious is that in the Bleacher Report’s Super Bowl Promo featuring JJK, they used the clip from the anime where Sukuna wiping floors against Jogo. In the promo, we see Sukuna as Patrick Mahomes, the top quarterback for Kansas City Chiefs, while Brock Purdy from San Francisco 49ers steps in as Jogo.

As you can see above, this promo clip was posted a day before the Super Bowl and if you know how Sukuna vs Jogo went down in the anime, then you can only imagine how pissed the San Francisco 49ers fans have gotten.
As one would usually say in these circumstances, the scriptwriting was spot on.

From sporting events like these to literal government tourism projects, Jujutsu Kaisen continues to be one of pop culture’s key source of reference to promote their products.
About Jujutsu Kaisen:
Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami.
It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018, with its chapters collected and published in 25 tankōbon volumes as of January 2024.
Studio MAPPA brought the world of JJK into anime by airing 24 episodes of season 1 from October 2020 to March 2021 and a second season that premiered in July 2023. A sequel covering the “Culling Game” arc has been announced.
Crunchyroll describes the overall plot of Jujutsu Kaisen as:
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life.
One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul.
From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna.
Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
