Ruri Dragon Takes Another Long Hiatus For the Year
Ruri Dragon faces its 2nd hiatus of the year
On March 9, 2026, after the release of Chapter 45, Ruri Dragon by Masaoki Shindo will be entering a 2-month break, one of its many hiatuses.
In this year alone, Ruri Dragon has taken 2 hiatuses, the first being from Janaury 25 to March 2.
The series has suffered through multiple breaks over the course of its 5-year run, such that it moved platforms by the 11th chapter on April 1, 2024, from Weekly Shonen Jump to Shonen Jump Plus, guaranteeing a biweekly schedule at best.
Ruri Dragon has had a history of repeated long breaks, including a 2-month hiatus from May 19 to July 28, 2025.
Chapter 46 will be released on April 27th.
As of March 4, 2026, the series has had 5 volumes released.
As of October 26, 2025, Ruri Dragon has sold 1.1 million copies.
There is an upcoming anime adaptation by Kyoto Animation (Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid).
Ruri Dragon is the story of Ruri Aoki, a regular student who wakes up with dragon horns as it turns out that she is actually half-dragon.
