One Punch Man, Numerous Manga on Mid-Year Hiatus
One Punch Man is not the only man on a hiatus in the middle of the year.
On May 21, 2025, it was announced that One Punch Man, the manga adaptation from ONE’s webcomic illustrated by Yusuke Murata, would have a three month hiatus and will return on July 17, 2025.
One Punch Man recently concluded its third redraw of the Ninja Arc last May 8, 2025 with Chapter 203.
However, the webcomic will still continue as scheduled, often releasing monthly on ONE’s website.
Chained Soldier and Ruri Dragon
Alongside One Punch Man, we also receive word of other manga being on hiatus for the middle of 2025 as Chained Soldier and Ruri Dragon will be on hiatus as well.
Chained Soldier by Takahiro (Akame ga Kill) & Takemura Youhei is on hiatus due to poor health of Takahiro.
The series is planned to resume on June 14, 2025.
Amassing 18 volumes, by January 2024, the Chained Soldier manga had over 2 million copies in circulation.
Meanwhile, Ruri Dragon by Masaoki Shindo is on hiatus for 2 months starting now until an undetermined period around July 2025.
While never specified, Ruri Dragon has had a history of repeated long breaks due to the author’s health, the longest hiatus being from June 2022 to April 2024, which is what led the series being transferred from Weekly Shonen Jump to the Jump Plus digital platform.
Ruri Dragon has amassed 3 volumes and over 850,000 copies in circulation by March 2025.
