Oshi No Ko Becomes ABEMA’s Most Viewed Anime In 2023

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith’s Village arc, Eminence in Shadow Season 1 and JJK Season 2 are in the top 5.

ABEMA, a popular Japanese streaming service, has announced the annual ranking of anime-related works broadcast and distributed in 2023 and Aka Akasaka’s Oshi No Ko anime adaptation ranked first in the ‘Annual Ranking of Views’.

The ranking is based on an independent compilation of viewing data for anime-related works broadcast and distributed from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with the ‘Annual Views Ranking’ calculated from the annual average number of views per episode, and the ‘Annual Comments Ranking’ calculated from the total number of comments during broadcast.

The top 5 most-viewed anime, according to ABEMA, are as follows:

  1. Oshi No Ko
  2. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith’s Village arc
  3. Crayon Shin-chan the movie
  4. The Eminence in Shadow Season 1
  5. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (Shibuya arc)

About Oshi No Ko:

Oshi no Ko is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, with its chapters collected in thirteen tankōbon volumes as of November 2023.

Between April and June 2023, Doga Kobo produced the first season, consisting of eleven episodes. In 2024, a second season is scheduled to premiere.
